Here's my bio thingy ...
My name is Amber-Rose. I'm a 21 year old BMI affiliated singer/songwriter/guitar player from Los Angeles, CA who writes, plays and sings original pop infused alternative rock.
I write from my heart, and am a seasoned performer. I started writing songs at age 11, and I taught myself to play guitar at age 12.
I started playing out on the Los Angeles music scene at 15, when I played The 1st Annual Accept & Respect Festival. By age 16, I was playing on the Sunset Strip and in various Los Angeles clubs such as The Rainbow, The Cat Club, 14 Below, The UnUrban, and The Masquer's Cabaret as a solo acoustic artist.
I wrote "Don't Let Me Go" later that year (2003) with Reana Gallardo, a high school buddy, after a friend I knew from middle school died in a suicide pact. The song was released almost a year later, when I had just turned 17. A very spare recording I did of just guitar and vocals went to #1 on the Soundclick (www.soundclick.com) Acoustic Vocals Charts after only 7 days online, and the song remained there for 5 months straight.
Several press articles followed ... Two by Joe Barracato (New York Post, The Industry Resource), and The Tolucan Times locally. I gained a lot of international fans from more than 65 countries through SoundClick by 2004.
In May 2006, I was asked to include 4 of my song ringtones on John Doffing's Start Mobile Network, and I performed at the launch after party at Club Otis, in San Francisco.
A month later, I formed The Amber Rose Band, and I moved on to larger venues and packed houses at The Roxy, The Key Club on the Sunset Strip, and at The Tangier on Los Feliz. As a band, we made it to the Semi-Finals in the 1st Bodog Battle of the Bands (Fuse TV) and were the last female fronted band in Los Angeles still in the competition. I held my own against 19 of L.A.'s most talented male fronted bands.
I also played at the Sound Aid Concert in Salem, Oregon in July 2007, for the CD Release which includes my #1 song on Soundclick, "Don't Let Me Go".
The band has since gone it's own separate ways, and I am currently recording my so far "untitled" solo debut album with producer Brian Irwin (Ty Stone, Just Off Turner, Astra Heights).
Thank you for your support!
Much Love!!!

If I Were MARCSTEADMAN[TEVYE]
"Dear God, you made many, many poor people.
I realize, of course, that it's no shame to be poor.
But it's no great honor either!
So, what would have been so terrible if I had a small fortune?"
If I were MARCSTEADMAN,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.
I'd build a big tall house with rooms by the dozen,
Right in the middle of the town.
A fine tin roof with real wooden floors below.
There would be one long staircase just going up,
And one even longer coming down,
And one more leading nowhere, just for show.
I'd fill my yard with chicks and turkeys and geese and ducks
For the town to see and hear.
(Insert)Squawking just as noisily as they can. (End Insert)
And each loud "cheep" and "swaqwk" and "honk" and "quack"
Would land like a trumpet on the ear,
As if to say "Here lives MARCSTEADMAN."
If I were MARCSTEADMAN,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.
I see my wife, my Golde, looking like MARCSTEADMANn's wife
With a proper double-chin.
Supervising meals to her heart's delight.
I see her putting on airs and strutting like a peacock.
Oy, what a happy mood she's in.
Screaming at the servants, day and night.
The most important men in town would come to fawn on me!
They would ask me to advise them,
Like a Solomon the Wise.
"If you please, Reb Tevye..."
"Pardon me, Reb Tevye..."
Posing problems that would cross a rabbi's eyes!
And it won't make one bit of difference if i answer right or wrong.
When you're rich, they think you really know!
If I were rich, I'd have the time that I lack
To sit in the synagogue and pray.
And maybe have a seat by the Eastern wall.
And I'd discuss the holy books with the learned men, several hours every day.
That would be the sweetest thing of all.
(Delete)If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man. (End Delete)
(Insert) Lord who mad ethe lion and the lamb,
You decreed I should be what I am.
Would it spoil some vast eternal plan?
If I were MARCSTEADMAN. (End Insert, End Song)

Hi Amber-Rose, just checking in to let you know, as promised, that LSD and I have done a tune together and would love for you to have a listen if you have a few sometime. It's called UnbeLIEvable and can be found on top of my page, or on LSD's page, or on the Collaboration Nation page...You did great coming in at # 33, my favorite number by the way, but you can gladly take it, as I didn't even come CLOSE! I know they noticed you, and hope they are smart enough to give you a chance sometime VERY soon.
Gotta run, but will be back to listen to more of your excellent music very soon.
Thanks, RRT

Congrats to "Rantings of Eva"!!!I also wanna say congrats to everyone in this comp for getting heard and getting the recognition that you all deserve. I know I at times displayed my emotions in ways that was not cool. But it's all in the growing up department, and we all evolved from this.
Just keep keeping it real, and we will once again (soon I hope), be side by side in our quest for success and being HEARD!
Here's another idea for being heard!
There's a new page on MN called "Collaboration Nation" for the listing of music that are collabs between 2 or more artists on MN.
It's not just there you can be heard, but if you collaborate with other artists in other genres, then your limitations to which contests you can enter just opened up to an endless selection. Use whatever you can to BE HEARD!!!!!

I love you all to DEATH!
