    Wastin' Time With Atomic Brother

After a really long break, our video podcast, Wastin' Time With Atomic Brother is back! The first episode of season 2 is now online.

In this first episode of Season 2 of Wastin' Time with Atomic Brother, we take you behind the scenes recording See Me Comin' in Lausanne, Switzerland and introduce you to drummer Pat Aeby and take a look inside the big box and take a tour of the small box.

Download the new episode of the podcast on iTunes or http://atomicbrother.com/wastin. You can also watch it on YouTube, Blip.tv and Revver.

Anyway, how does Atomic Brother waste time? In the videos we are always playing, rehearsing, writing songs and whatever else a rock band does. We'll get into some of that in future episodes. The show is called "Wastin' Time with Atomic Brother" not "Going to work with Atomic Brother." So, how do we waste time?

James is an avid surfer, and has been for a many years. He's nuts. And he's real good. He'll surf in any weather. Check him out surfing in the snow with his brand new Atomic Brother surf board!

Sebastian recently was an extra in the new NBC tv series "Lipstick Jungle." That's his back to the camera, in black, playing "East Village Rocker," walking in front of "Steve's girlfriend" from Beverly Hills 90210.

    Who's That Playing Drums?

Some of you have been wondering what's up with our drummer Mike. Where has he been, and who is this guy Rob that's playing drums now? We'll, besides being a drummer, a director and editor, Mike is also the frontman for the band Isol8ed. He took a year off to play with us and now he's gone back to finishing his album. You may recall that we appeared in a video for his band Isol8ed in 2006. Mike is a good friend and will always be a part of the Atomic Brother family, and we can't wait to hear his album.

The new guy, Rob Kelly, is actually the old guy. Rob is also part of the Atomic Brother family, he played drums for Atomic Brother on many of the original demo sessions for See Me Comin', and he's joining us for a few shows this year.

We have been fortunate to be friends with, and play with, many great drummers over the years, and will continue to do so in the future. So, don't be surprised if you see Mike, Rob, Greg or even Pat taking turns behind the kit.

    New Jersey Bound

We'll be making our way out to Clifton, New Jersey in April to play with our old friends King Hell, at Dingbatz, the Rock Capital of Clifton. More details later, but make sure you mark April 18th on your calendar.

    Odds and Ends

Besides Music Nation, we are members of a bunch of social networking sites. Check us out at MySpace, Bebo, FaceBook, iLike, last.fm and SkyRock (for our French speaking fans). Friend us at any of those sites!

Continued thanks to Gunter and Rose at rockstation.ch in Switzerland for still featuring our song "Everything and Less." We really hope to be back in Switzerland this year to see you guys! We haven't been to Zurich in a long time.

  • Atomic Brother To Release New CD on Election ... 10/09/2007 01:27 AM

New York, NY, October 3, 2007 - On Election Day, November 6, 2007, the New York City-based Atomic Brother will release the follow-up to the band's 2004 release Elected, with their latest album, See Me Comin'.
See Me Comin' is Atomic Brother's first full-length album and is a collection of 12 original songs. While mainly a hard-rock album, listeners are often surprised at the wide range of styles found on See Me Comin’. After the heavy riffs in “Not My Fault” and the title track “See Me Comin’,” it’s refreshing to find that the band is also capable of playing punk rock tunes like “Employee of the Month,” and even slower ballads such as “Home in the Sky” and the Spanish-feeling “Never Home.” With See Me Comin', Atomic Brother decided to focus more on writing good music and less on a particular genre. According to bassist Gnolfo, they were “tired of hearing bands both live and on CD that sound the same from start to finish,” so they decided to focus more on writing good music and less on keeping it within a particular genre. “If it sounds good and we both like it,” stated guitarist/vocalist Melillo, “we’ll use it. Period. A good song is a good song.” In his review of See Me Comin', Robert Pally of Swissrecords.ch certifies that, "Atomic Brother can certainly write powerful songs," and according to Jon Worley of Aiding and Abetting, "these boys do rock."
See Me Comin' was recorded and produced by Atomic Brother in Lausanne, Switzerland at Soundlake Studios with the band’s close friend, and former colleague, Patrick Aeby (formerly of Krokus) playing drums and mixing the album. See Me Comin' is being released independently by Atomic Brother, and on this Election Day, November 6, 2007 fans can purchase the album on CD from CDBaby.com and at atomicbrother.com. The album was release as a digital download worldwide at iTunes and in the U.S. at the eMusic, Napster, Sony Connect and Rhapsody online music stores on July 4 2007.

    About Atomic Brother
The alternative hard-rock band, Atomic Brother, was formed in 2003 by James Melillo (lead vocals/guitar) and S.A. Sebastian Gnolfo (bass/vocals). While categorized mainly as hard-rock, the diversity of the band’s musical influences is apparent in their ability to master a number of different styles—from rock to metal to punk, and even slower songs and ballads. The band's line-up is completed by Michael Carrasquillo on drums in the U.S. and Pat Aeby in Europe. In January 2007 Atomic Brother released a video for “Take You Away” from the album See Me Comin', and are currently producing a video podcast called “Wastin Time With Atomic Brother,” a behind the scenes look at the NYC band.
