A Wish For Fire is back with a new direction, new lineup, new album and a redefined, raw sound. Their new E.P. Skeleton Key, released August 23rd, 2007, (Available on iTunes, emusic, Napster and Rhapsody) is their first new recording in 2 years and is the result of a painstaking process of trying to “get it right.” The band wanted to capture the feeling of their live performance as well as the styles of their individual members. Powerful drumming and raw, understated riffs lead the charge with this lineup. They defy conventional structure and blend sometimes smooth, sometimes gritty vocals that are unlike anything likely to be found on the radio. There is a trace of psychedelic and classic rock in the composition with both the sound and arrangement following more of a feeling than any set (or expected) pattern. The lyrics are complex and full of disheartening yearning. The music and vocals combine to make an unmistakable mood unlike anything out there.
