Song=Intro/The Fall *** Band = The American StandardAcoustic guitar intro. Vocals verse 1, somewhat reminiscent of R.E.M, but in a good way. The song, takes off right away, ah, with some vintage guitar sound after the 1st chorus. The writing is actually heart felt without being shlocky/that is a fine fucking line to tread these days and risky, ... it works here... Guitar section sounds like a fender twin reverb w/a strat on the middle to middle back Pickup setting, although these days, its hard to tell, with so many emulators out there, this sounds like the real deal, w/the verb on board the amp. Production is a bit raw, which I like... its actually a band, not another one man deal (trying to do it all and failing miserably... FEW can do it all, trying to be a band thing.) The recording sounds live, like a band went into a studio. It 90% there as far as production and the writing is there, in both lyric and melody. Although the song goes on a bit long, I like it and can groove on it. The over heads on the drum kit are placed properly and the drum sounds are there. This is a good effort and could be released, if a bit more time was spent on a world class mix, with a million buck worth of gear, which I get the idea they didn't want to afford and were a bit rushed to get this done. Still, the mix serves the song well and its sort of REM, meets a more bluesy mix. A touch more, not much though... bass guitar and kick drum... low end to give it a but more drive would serve the song well, as well as a bit more compression to sit the vocals up front and even more intimate, would serve the tune nicely. The stripped down section at the top, serves the song well... I mean I ain't gonna' pick at at straws, something works or it does not. This works nicely. Paired with an engineer/producer that are world class this could go places. Keep at it (and so far most of the stuff in the non spin contest the WFNX contest has sucked goat nards) most WFNX material, has just been so plain "BAD," I didn't even bother... the WFNX contest has been about who can spam the most and not talent and asking for a review from everyone's favorite prick of a reviewer... took... balls

A touch more bass in the mix and its good to go... what else has been done here.... let me see, nice double kick work. I like what you have done with it, a touch more bass in the mix locked in with those slamming double kick drums, would serve the song well. With a remix it could be released... I say again, I love this song, always have... hard to even approach the original... you did a pretty fuckin' decent job here, a touch more low end all around, w/Bass Git and Kick drums and its a release. BAND=Frame - SONG=Lasting Pain Music VideoOK a live studio track, its real low in volume. NEEDS to be LOUDER to match the mosh pit... which is so 1997 where are we going singer. So far one a one note lead line, that's pitchy.... W/the obligatory roaring shit, bking vox. No melodic line, not a bad sounding band, singer stays put in the same musical line throughout... the video has motion... but the tune doesn't budge from its one note johnny line. Obviously, its not broadcast ready in any conventional way, but sometimes, stuff that is totally fucked up and a technical mess is AWESOME... These guys just pointed a camera hit record and uploaded, no edits ... they must know the material, well! At first I thought they were only for laughs, but after fucking around their entire collection, I gotta say, its a must see/hear mess of a deal, that totally works for them... with potential out the ass! They had balls to upload such a raw deal and audacity, but it pays off... no wonder these guys are rated in the top 100 @#47. The material speaks for its self LOUD! Nice vocal line LOSE the drum machine claps or mix em way back... and a Chorus NO... you go to another verse?? and the acoustic guitar riffs, stall the groove back into verse 2... lose em', ...EDIT IT OUT.... I like the groove though. .... OK, finally, a chorus in a minor key change! .... The key patch is a nice touch but no real build, stays in the same lane, .... I don't dislike the groove its just I wanted an additional melody to augment the song... is it there and no, not a well enough defined change for me.... nice mix, stays in the same lane all the way through except for the minor key change.... It an old Pink Floyd Groove thing not bad, not awesome, cool, good effort... it is structured so that it is an album cut not a single, I don't mind it, grateful dead meets Old Floyd, with a slightly too polished indy sound... @ 1:51 is the strongest melodic change and it come too late and only once, that's a statement for real. No real tension and release, and if I could say anything about music, it is ALWAYS TENSIONS AND RELEASE.... This is all almost release.... I would Pro Tools out the guitar noodlings and make it an a/b/c guitar noodle/then b/then a/ again and out. Good effort, not a single hit, not trash. The structure just stays in the same spot in the sun almost all the way through, without enough shady spots to draw me in. I'll go 57% on it 100% dope smoker cruising music .... in a set of 12 on an album... not annoying, its relaxing jam music... fairly well produced, 80% there on the production Dead heads would dig it, if doubled in length and more noodles. I don't hate it, would rather hit walk on the wild side for this feeling.... or Arnold Lane/Floyd... remember Ol' balls is comparing you with the best the world has to offer... overall not bad...not unique, plenty of the same stuff all around.. it has ....something to offer -like ... but not balls
