Song=The Silver *** Band =The Soldier Thread
This song starts off w/reverse guitar effect which I like. It then drops into a verse w/some whisper style vocals, which I like, in the proper context. Its a bit lacking in melodic hook though. Then an instrumental which takes the momentum away from the tune... and right back into verse two, which is the same thing offered in verse 1. Another instrumental section, which takes the momentum away from the tune, then a decent build towards the end. That comes too late to get the impact it would have if it went directly from the 1st verse, right into the chorus, which come at the end. I would pro tools out the instrumental, after verse 1 and paste the chorus into the spot that follows verse 1. Overall not bad production, ... God this song would have so much more impact if the chorus came, right after the 1st verse. It structured to be two verses, then chorus. Its a nice piece but not a radio friendly cut as the song is weal overall. Needs to be edited to have more IMPACT... music being TENSION & RELEASE, this song is almost all release, until the excellent tension in the final build. And is anybody going to get picked, who actually has a video? I don't hate their guts... but the structure of the song isn't all it could be, in fact its shoots itself in the foot, because the most powerful part is held out until the end... Reminds me of Echo & the BunnyMen... in tone and production style. Not a bad effort, just needs an edit to have tension and release in proper proportion. Sort of stumps me how the geeks pass over... so much AWESOME material in lieu of this type stuff, ... which is on its way, but is no where near arriving, anywhere, anytime soon! Lacks...

Hey T&TT,Yes I did ... right now the "geeks" chosen winners ... are those who the folks, in the MN office, are fond of! They should hire a Pro to choose, ... who has no bias, ... except that the music be great. I liked it better, when the judges made all picks -in all rounds! It is just a real insult to the literally 1000's of artists who deserve a shot... by placing the mediocre at best, in a winners slot... it makes the entire site look rigged as they are not "trained ears" .. but do have power... to put their buddies up top welcome to the music bizz... Simply a dicks choice .... and it lacks... balls
