Music Nation is a Music Video Competition for Independent Artists

Zay D a.k.a Decatur Zay is the best rapper in the souf. Born Zayd Abdul Baseer on May 18, 1987 in Cleveland, Ohio young Zay D was born into a very creative and hordworking family with his parents being both a painter and a nurse... Zay D first had music influineces like James Brown, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin and all of music lengendary artists but it wasnt until his older brother, Naim, played Bone Thugz N Harmony, Outkast, Bigge, Pac and more great early rap artist ... was when Zay D know that he was interested in rap. But Zay D didnt start raping until the age of 12 when his long time friend Young Raam decided to start a rap group. Due lack of equipment, they wasnt able to record music and just continued to develop their writing skills. And a year later Zay D would join a group called PIC(partners n crime). The group was short lived because reality imitated art and the majority of the members in the group were soon after convicted of armed robbery. But at the age of 16, Zay D was introduced to Young K to form GMC, then a couple of days later, was introduced to DJ who was to become their producer and later after a collaboration with another local artist by the name of Big Ben, he was later added to the group and GMC was official. Through the years they lost contact with DJ but Big Ben and Zay-D took over the responsibilities to produce the tracks that the groud recorded on. Zay D and Big Ben went on to begin another group called G Life. The members of G Life where Zay D, Big Ben, Rod, Lil Tay, Young Raw, Lil Zay and Young Black. The group quickly began to gain a neighborhood buzz. As time went on the streets came calling and Rod was incarcerated and is now waiting on trial in Dekalb County jail facing murder charges. Less than a year after Zay D graduated from Columbia High in 2005 his classmate Gentrell Wells(RIP) was murdered. And a few months later Zay D's long time friend and group member Big Ben was also Murdered. Then Lil Zay Big Ben's cousin and also fellow group member was arrested and charged with murder and is now incarcerated and awaiting trial. ZayD is now flying solo but his group is not far behind. After recently linkin back up with Young K the two have formed MGN(Money Gettin Niggaz). He also has not forgot about the rest of his crew either Zay D is currently producing music for Young Raw and Lil Tay. Lil Tay has also started making some of the beats and you will be hearing music from them very soon. Zay D is also workin on his solo effort intitled "THE STREETS KEEP CALLING"
