blackcowboy has been compared to Coldplay, Radiohead and The Doves with its shimmering guitars and perfectly touched keyboards anchored by Jonah's eerily beautiful voice. A sound worthy of being played in Heaven's smoking room where all the great dead musicians spend their time. Jonah, the sole lyricist and self-taught musician, looks like the one Billy Holiday regretfully let slip through her fingers. And with his bloodline touching slavery, the lucid antiquity in his voice comes as no surprise. The song "Come Back Down" is delivered with an alluring melody that pads the blow of its harsh words, while that same glistening blackcowboy tone momentarily disguises the comedy hidden in "Dancin" -- a Three's Company type misunderstanding about a guy who gets caught by his lady dancing with another woman. Until their recent collaboration with Krish Sharma on the song, "Come On", all tracks have been produced by "Pookie" and Jonah. Pookie talks about the new experience of outside collaboration, "the song came out sounding great and opened our eyes to pursuing others with him in the near future." When asked what success would mean to them, longevity comes to Jonah's mind, "to be able to keep growing and writing." And you get the sense that Jonah will be able to do exactly that, and remain a witness as he rides through every phase of his life.
