Blasé Splee always and forever will be Carl Larson, Michael Frelick, Tommy Tesnow, Dave Wisbiski, and Jon Berz. You may recognize some of us from other bands such as Isn't It Yesterday, You and Yours, Alucard, Fordirelifesake, The Cast, The Camera, Chasing Traces of You and Blueprint 76. We play acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitars, drums, tambourines, pianos, organs, midi keyboards, xylophones, accordions and we sing into microphones. Carl Larson-vocals/guitar/keyboard Michael Frelick-vocals/guitar/keyboard Tommy Tesnow-drums Jon Berz-harmonies/guitar/tambourine/stomps and claps Dave Wisbiski-Bass Blasé Splee was born in the winter of 2005 when former members of Isn’t It Yesterday Mike Frelick and Carl Larson started collaborating based on their collective love for songwriting and beer. Still without a name or a full band Carl and Mike added drummer Tommy Tesnow of Alucard and started recording rough mixes. During the summer of 2006 Carl and Mike stumbled upon the phrase “Blasé Splee” Ebonics for etcetera and decided it made for a fitting band name. Now armed with a name few can pronounce (blaz-eh-splee) Carl, Mike and Tommy recruited long time friend and bass player Dave Wisbiski of Fordirelifesake to finish recording their first e.p. Upon discovering the magic that is Blasé Splee, Jon Berz formerly of Blue Print 76/The Cast the Camera decided to join the band by declaring “I’m in this band now” on Blasé Splee’s Myspace page. The band obliged and the musical ensemble that is Blasé Splee was born. Blasé Splee’s self titled freshman e.p. is a roadmap through the musical evolution of seasoned songwriters Carl Larson and Michael Frelick. The six song e.p. weaves it’s way through pop, rock, indie-rock, electro-pop all while keeping an oldies inspired nostalgia not too often found in modern music. The first song on the disk “All that I know” is raw, emotional and occasionally unhinged. Frelick’s vocals are backed by a foot stomping organ that becomes the heartbeat of the song. One of the focal points on the disk, Larson’s “Curtain Call” is an emotional pop ballad that pulls you along with Larson’s haunting and heartfelt vocals like a good melodic cry. The second focal point on the record is Frelick’s “Everybody Needs a Way” which becomes the record’s stand out track with its upbeat vocals and catchy beat. The video for “Everybody Needs a Way” a three minute animation triumph, was featured on both Youtube.com and Grouper.com with just under 100,000 hits combined. Blasé Splee is music for all ages, moms, dads, kids and lovers of all things musical.

I just want to thank all of my friends for their constant support and love throughout the past few months. I'm so glad I joined this site and am so thankful for all of the wonderful people i've met here. I wanted to take a second to wish everyone the best of luck in this last week of the Spin Pursuit and tell everyone who makes the finals not to take it for granted. There are 476 people who would kill for the spot you will have and I hope you know how talented and loved you are to be able to make it there. For those who don't win or make the finals, never give up. I know i won't. Cherish the relationships you've developed throughout this ride and consider yourself lucky to have done so. There will be other opportunities for you. As for the winner, I will be behind you 100% and wish you the best throughout your career as I will be following it. I truly love everyone that I have been blessed to meet on this site and you are all very dear to me. So once again, good luck, God bless, and i hope we have a great finish to this thing!New York Disco Villains says
