Burden of Atlas is an enigma. Part metal, part melody-driven rock, part white-boy soul and totally uncompromising. This fivesome started with a core of highschool friends and has matured into a band that knows where they are going and wants to get done. Spicy. In May of 2006 the band was put together as follows, Austin McPherson on guitar, Josh Carroll on Bass, and Matt Dudley on drums. The band started out with the name “Swander” which was a name that Dudley, and Carroll created. The trio began to write music together incorporating heavy and melodic styles with odd time changes that would form their sound. As the trio progressed throughout the months ahead they had created a mixture of songs that would define the bands original sound. Now that the songs had been created the band ventured out in search of a singer. After a few failed attempts Dudley called up long time friend, and former band mate Ryan Lee to see if he could fill the shoes that no one else could. After that phone call Lee entered a few practices and was inducted into the band in January 2007. The band then called a friend from their previous band to thicken up the sound with some backing guitar work. Jarrod Cox, who played with Dudley, Mcpherson, and Lee in the band Central, joined the group and now rounds out the family. Now that the band was complete, they began writing together and molding the band into what it is today. Burden of Atlas is an imperceptible mixture of lilting vocals, ethreal guitar, and crushing rhythms who think for themselves and answer to no one. Lyrically diverse and soncially brutal, Burden of Atlas personify what it takes to let go and let the music do the talking.

I managed to drop 10 spots while composing the following spam . . .
As much as I like to do nothing ~ I'm soooo lazy ~ I usually just stay in bed. ( & NO ~ I didn't make it ~ but in this case ~ I guess that I will lay in it !) People have often told me I could even screw up a wet dream, & yet I simply had to do something ~ as my elevated status in the rock pile competition must have ~ somehow managed to actually light a fire under my little ( & ladies ~ did I mention quite attractive ~ because if I did ~ I'd lied) behind. I've just added two new songs to my page, & the remaining four tunes were added last week. I guess I'm merely trying to raise the bar ~ at least for myself ~ & not just rest on my already posted older material ~ so we will see how this goes* ~ & thank you for listening ! * see my Bio

HEy Guys, Merry Christmas. I did not know you were from Whiteville. That is awesome. You are very talented and that is awesome as North Carolina seems to be fully stacked. Maybe all music should come through the Tar Heel State instead of NY or CA. Anyway, Merry Christmas. Best wishes to you in 2008. We are going to slide over to see Pyromatic in Myrtle Beach 29 December. May get to Lucky's but not sure. Wow, another great NC band, cool.
