Fresh off of the Warped Tour and a record produced by legendary pop craftsmen "The Matrix”, Jon Bishop decided to end his involvement with his last band. At the same time, Bryan Stratman and Christian Cummings were diligently producing, engineering and playing all sorts of music out of Stratman's now well known recording studio "Capricorn Studios" in San Diego. Fostering a friendship during the recording of demos for Jon's previous band, it became apparent that a common sense of musicality and ideals would make them perfect band mates. Common influences ranging from T-Rex, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan to Weezer, Oingo Boingo and David Bowie further cemented their interest in collaborating.

A year later, Bryan and Jon had amassed so much material together that it was decided a record must be made, resulting in the recently released “baroque-popish” first album aptly titled Volume 1. Christian, who had been working feverishly with some of his other projects (Ken Andrews, Los Angeles Digital Noise Academy, First Wave Hello, Tailgunner, Hot Like A Robot) decided to commit full time to the band. Guitarist TJ Royer (Tailgunner) and bassist Jason Harding soon followed, rounding out the band with a very musically competent line-up. Fast forward half a year, and the band has been nominated for "Best New Artist" at the San Diego Music Awards. Their first music video debuted in September, with a second video due in early October 2007.

I'm a sucker for carnival-esque (and piano-based) rock, so I responded immediately to So Long. You certainly have unique sound and have not taken the easy route by buying into any specific genre. Simple is a lovely, er, simple tune. Congrats on being one of the best bands I've heard on this site so far. Bravo.

I already liked the sound of the odd instrumentation from the very first note. Good on ya for being musically adventurous- god knows we need musical adventure in our life. It may take you awhile longer to get into the main stream because you are working on original sounds- but in the end you will stand out. The music was playful and friendly.
