Have been a singer/songwriter since I was 10 - mostly songs with a folk/country sound to them. Also my songs pay homage to family, friends and growing up in Decatur, Illinois! I've been writing songs for a looonnnngg time! Studied songwriting under Jack Segal (Scarlet Ribbons) and Jason Blume (Change My Mind). Songwriting advice; learn all the rules of songwriting so then you can learn to break them. The songs that people love are the ones that break the rules but first you have to understand structure and meter and all of that to then know what will sound interesting.
