Music Nation is a Music Video Competition for Independent Artists

Quiet and withdrawn, this young man is definitely more than meets the eye. With the energy of the most lively hype man and the delivery skills that would rival some of the genre's most dexterous rappers, Etienne (pronounced EH-tee-enn), a.k.a. "E.T.", is one of Hip Hop's undiscovered talents. Growing up listening to everything from Hip Hop, Rock, R&B, Reggae, Oldies, and more, it is nearly impossible to place Etienne in one specific style of rap. His eclectic taste in music has made his style one of his own. Growing up in a tumultuous environment, the only constant factor in his life was music. Using music as an outlet to express himself, Etienne would constantly alienate himself from the world, but his talent and presence couldn't keep people away. At a young age, Etienne was quickly captivated by the elements of Hip Hop. By watching classics such as "Breakin," "Beat Street," and "Wildstyle", he developed a strong passion for breakdancing and the Hip Hop culture. By the age of 12, he dabbled with the ones and twos as a DJ. A year later, he began to put his thoughts on paper and soon started to put those thoughts on top of music. While other teenagers were spending money on rims, sound systems, clothes, and jewelry, Etienne was saving up his money to buy studio equipment so that he could learn to produce his own beats. Within months of graduating high school in Arizona, Etienne moved back to his home state of California in hopes of one day, sharing his music with the world. Listening to his songs is like a never-ending roller coaster---the ups and downs, the good times and the bad---you begin to understand the kind of turbulent life Etienne has lived. Art is a reflection of life and music is his art. Etienne is determined to stay true to his feelings on life, his experiences, his observations, and what's real.
