Gemstar: A New York hip-hop artist has made a solid commitment to his music and vow to make a change stamping out the hypocrisy which is plaguing the music industry. Born and raised in Roosevelt, NY, music was the passion of GemStar's heart from day one. Gemstar's most recent project “Streetz Gon Burn” has gone back to an era when hip-hop meant an infinite horizon of possibilities rather than the staleness of predictability.
Teaming up with picture perfect to create music videos: "Make Money" featuring Capital P, "Who I Am", which are featured on Real Talk DVD series and numerous live performances for example opening up for Busta Rhymes. He has also been recently interviewed on the Danger Vision Show hosted by Tommy Danger. Gemstar has been on the move from NY, NC to Miami on the grind bringing the "heat" in ever town, and in each of his live performances he has increase energy showing his hungry to be the best in what he does. The dynamic essence of Gemstar can be felt by all who has listened to him.

Make Money- the video plot was cool but song was a little predictable..flow wise I’m hearing late 90’s nyc that’s cool but I don’t think its flying off the shelves in 2008…could use some more character and personality…tthis is entertainment don’t forget…lets be entertaining to all the people..not just the block…btw the block buys from the bootlegger on the block anywaySaigon says
I really think he needs to find something to spit about besides what hasnt been talked about 1000 times already, concepts can take you a long way, I never understand why NY artist try to follow other trends to work....he can spit a little bit but could use alot of work...dale brown says

Congrats to "Rantings of Eva"!!!I also wanna say congrats to everyone in this comp for getting heard and getting the recognition that you all deserve. I know I at times displayed my emotions in ways that was not cool. But it's all in the growing up department, and we all evolved from this.
Just keep keeping it real, and we will once again (soon I hope), be side by side in our quest for success and being HEARD!
Here's another idea for being heard!
There's a new page on MN called "Collaboration Nation" for the listing of music that are collabs between 2 or more artists on MN.
It's not just there you can be heard, but if you collaborate with other artists in other genres, then your limitations to which contests you can enter just opened up to an endless selection. Use whatever you can to BE HEARD!!!!!

I love you all to DEATH!

So it's finally come. The last day of this interesting competition. One last time I want to thank any and all who sent a vote my way during this crazy ride. At this point I think pretty much anybody can make a run for the top 20 and I'm sure by the end of the day the right people will be where they should be. Although I don't quite agree with the way this competition was handled, I'm kind of glad it did go down this way. There may or may not have been cheating in the beginning, people can complain that they didn't come up in the head to head player as many times as others, some may even consider it rigged. The way I look at is this: this is a community for musicians to meet, build relationships, and interact with other musicians who share the same passion for music as you do. These competitions are meant to help artists get heard by the whole community and bring other people into the community. For that I am thankful. I have been a part of many online music sites where artists put up their music, look for reviews, acceptance, and fame, basically whatever they can get. This is the only place where I actually felt like part of a community. I know it may seem like i'm just beating a dead horse saying how much I love you guys night after night now, but I just want to make sure the community knows that after this competition is all said and done I will still be here and I will still be showing love to all of my friends that I can honestly say are a part of my life now, and I have Music Nation to thank for it. Sorry i'm taking up so much space in your comment box haha i'll shutup now. Anyway, i'll end with saying its been a pleasure, and I can't wait to see how this turns out!
