"An injection of guitar-driven funk into rock and roll"
Hailing from Springfield, Missouri, John Anno bring's you a fusion of various musical styles which includes blues, funk, jazz, rock, and even hip-hop. A creative musical exploration based around a rhythmic structure with a commitment to song craft. It's a feeling and a connection, one you can't point to but know when you see it. it's satisfying and challenging, unquestioned and trusted. It ebbs and flows and moves us...and in the end, it's music! Music that has something to say and John has the skill to fluidly express it. .
John has performed shows throughout the Midwest since 2003, and having shared the stage with such national acts as The Urge, The Phunk Junkeez, 2 Live Crew, Tech N9ne, Afroman, Nelly & The St. Lunatics, Mystikal, Fabolous, Coolio and Pretty Willie.
John has written songs as a member of some of Springfields most popular bands. "Now I record and perform my music for everyones enjoyment, or discomfort. I guess im a junkie for music. For me its the soundtrack of life. It can describe so many things without saying a word. Its wierd how some of the best creativity can come out of you when you are at extremes in life. Whether that be positive or negative, some of the best music ive written has been from that. Falling in love, losing someone, bliss or turmoil. When your feeling that, it really comes out of you in strange ways."

~Sunday Vote from ☆L§Ð☆ ~"and on the 7th day he rested."
LOL. Like God needs rest. Oh those old school humans were brilliant, I tell you. But I'll take that advice, (cuz I need some) and rest on this 7th day. But, don't worry! I've done SALUTES / Artist spotlights every day since I've started doing them, and I will continue. Plus, you still get my vote.
TO BANDS ABOVE 500, or even in that area:
In case you don't know, voting for other bands and then commenting means more votes for you. There are some bad ass bands who got in late or whatever, that can make the next round still. Here's a quote from NEW YORK DISCO VILLAINS http://musicnation.com/music/nydv .
"Since we have a few extra days look for someone above 500 rank that you think should make it to the head-to-head. We've seen< acts move hundreds of ranks in just a couple of days! Send some love and you will get it back!"
*******************************************************
*******************************************************
So there you have it. It's not too late in the game. And never mind worrying about only voting for a band that is within your taste like a couple of shmucks that I know of, because it's about getting YOUR MUSIC HEARD, as much as HEARING THEM. And you'll find that no matter what, it's about the love and helping eachother, which helps you. So whether you're doing it more for yourself, for the love, or both............... EVERYONE WINS!
My word,

Here's a sweet ~>V<~ 4 Sunday. And also, my Daily Salute to those who ROCK ME!
THE LIST FOR TODAY: (and what a list this iz!!!)
New York Disco Villains: "Loner" http://musicnation.com/music/nydv/loner (There's a reason why NYDV moved up on these rankings so quickly. Hard work, yes. But more because this is just one of the best bands around. Their style of music has an unmistakable sound, that as soon as you hear it, you know who it is. (I don't know how to explain it, but) Reminds me of that style that Danny Elfman / Boingo has, to where every song is so different, but yet it's still within their style. They have brilliant upbeat rhythms, that gets your feet a' movin, but yet somehow still has that hard edge raunch of good rock n roll. Kinda if Boingo banged The B-52's, then had a troubled kid. But then kicked Fred's ass out of the B-52's. And if given a break, these "Villains" would put a dent and make their mark in the world of music. It's hard hard to explain these peeps, without taking up @ least 2 pages. So I'll just say, that they come VERY highly recommended.)
Cry to the Blind: "Shadow of a Man" http://musicnation.com/music/crytotheblind/shadow-of-a-man ( Dude! Dude, dude dude! This is very easy to explain. These guys fucking kick ass!!! Hard rock, just the way I love it. Listen to these guys, and you'll swear you were listening to a band that's bigger than life. Again, a band with their own style, but if I had to give a comparison, I'd say Queensryche, Avenged SevenFold, and Dream Theater, just because of the clarity of each part, and the talented abilities of each member, along with the level of intensity. (haha, I said member). Not to mention just way way way WAY kick ass tunes. Anyhoot, these guys are amazing musicians, with a flawless vocalist. They could even do "Death Metal" if they wanted. lol. No but seriously..... a BIG WOW!)
7th Penguin: "On our Wings" or any song! http://musicnation.com/music/the7thpenguin/on-our-wings (I heard 7th penguin on the 1st day of the competition. That's when I realized, that I'd better try to get as much attention as I can, by trying my hardest to be in a high ranking, because............ there's no way I'm winning this. Many artists later, they also confirmed that for me. But back to penguin. How to explain? I can't. All I can say is that this is one of the best things that I've ever heard. Original, tricky, multi genres all in one song, catchy, and everything else. Let's put it this way. They're so good...... I hate them. Because I lovem so much.
The OneNeeders: "Angels coming Down" http://musicnation.com/music/randy9856/angels-coming-down2 (Okay, what I like most about these guys, are that their style is an acquired taste. But once you taste this, you'll be HOOKED! Punky-likeness of the Ramones vs The great Rock-ness of The Rolling Stones. Which both are very very VERY catchy. Just great straight forward rock n roll. The kind that's been lost for so so long! Seriously, check them out, and give it a couple of listens. You'll be pissed because.............. this freaking song will be in your head........all day! )
MiuMa: "Bad Girl" http://musicnation.com/music/miuma/bad-girl-mp3 (I have no idea who this is, or anything about this person, except the fact that it says in the bio that there's no live instruments around and it's all computer generated. As I know a lot of "live instrument" musicians don't favor that, I am very impressed with the honesty for 1, and also the fact that MiuMa has undeniable talent of arrangement, and just being great at putting a song together period! Writing skills is undeniable too. Wait a minute! I think MiuMa is not telling us everything. I suspect that this person has more music knowledge than they want us to think. I think that this might be the type of artist who just loves the pure XTC of putting out art (in a couple of different mediums I might add, as there is incredible visual art to consider too), for everyone to enjoy, while basking in the shade of a modest veil. Wanna be entertained? Check out MiuMa...... you will be very glad you did!)
FIN
Love always,

Mark Alan Dooley says
Sunday is named after Sunna (Sól), Germanic goddess of the sun, from which the word sun also is derived. The practice of naming the seven days after the ten known "planets" goes back to Babylonian or Egyptian times and was adopted by Greeks and Romans. Sunday is considered a non-working day in many countries of the world, and are part of "the weekend". Countries predominantly influenced by Jewish or Islamic religions have Friday or Saturday as a weekly non-working day instead. The Gregorian calendar repeats every 400 years, and no century starts on a Sunday. The Jewish New Year never falls on a Sunday. Any month beginning on a Sunday will contain a Friday the 13th. In Thailand, the color associated with Sunday is red. In many Christian traditions it is the Christian Sabbath, which replaced the Jewish Shabbat. It has traditionally been the first day of the week, but from the mid-twentieth century it is regarded as the seventh day of the civil calendar week. But to me.....it is just another glorious day to vote for you!
Got a Minute? Have a Listen!
