I am a songwriter. It comes with a great responsibility. As songwriters we can build up or we can tear down. We can give or we can take away. When I was asked for the use of my song to raise money for a small orphanage of children in Sierra Leone, I had no idea the impact. This song helps raise money for artificial limbs, for children who have lost their own in diamond mine and landmine accidents. At this time of celebration for our American freedom, let us realize that we as Americans reach out in love to comfort the world. We as songwriters can be a part of that love. We can all change the world one song, one melody, one person at a time. Blessings - kim mclean
