A little bit about me:
I was born and raised in North Carolina, moved to Ohio after marriage and now reside in the beautiful state of Arizona. Singing and writing music is my heart and the amazing, universal language that never ceases to amaze me. If you like my music, then please vote!

I have had so many wonderful comments and questions regarding my music here on Music Nation that I'd like to share more with my viewers:

1. How did I end up in Arizona having been raised in North Carolina?

Well, I married a wonderful man whom I met at a singing competition in Nashville, TN. His home state was Ohio. He had a great job in production there, so I packed up my things, left home and we remained in Ohio until 2004. We played some dates in Arizona, we made some great business contacts and here we are in the Sonoran desert!

2. When did I start singing/writing?

Singing:
I grew up singing and traveling with my family group at the young age of nine when my mother discovered that I could sing harmony. It was a very big deal around home because I wanted to go every single day once I knew that I was allowed to go! Sadly, my sister didn't feel the same and I have been apologizing to her for many years about dragging her all over the place.

Writing:
Not quite as early as nine because singing overtook my wants of doing anything else. I just really didn't pay any attention to school because my head was so far up in the clouds. I think I "scraped by." I did love my choral ensemble/show choir teacher, so that kept me there long enough to learn what I needed to graduate. Thank you Mrs. E! On to writing. After I graduated high school, I began writing. It was harder than I thought, but my mother, who has had some song cuts by artists such as "The Oak Ridge Boys" worked with me and blessed me yet again by furthering my gift of writing. First I co-wrote, and now writing my own material is equally as special to me as the gift of singing that song. I have to take this opportunity to thank ALL of my family for fully supporting my dreams!

3.Why didn't I list musical influences:

Because I can remember singing every song that came on the radio in multiple genres of music and learning that all were great and yet different. I can hear a Patsy Cline song and fall in love with her again and again. I get goose bumps when Aretha Franklin and Wynonna Judd sing. I think I have more variety of music on my i-pod than anybody I know. I love The Eagles, Chicago, James Taylor, Christ Tabernacle Choir, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, The Temptations, Phil Vassar, Martina McBride, Amanda Wilkinson, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Aerosmith, Elvis, Pat Benetar, Alan Jackson Mariah Carey, Jo Dee Messina, Alicia Keys, George Jones, Tammy Wynette-you get the idea. I barely scratched the surface. I doubt you want me to keep going. We'd be here a while. But, all have made me the country artist I am today.

I'd like to add these final comments:

I want to take my years of experience in writing, performing and recording with some of the greatest Nashville studio musicians and pursue my country career full throttle. This competition is a great avenue for those of us who want to follow our dreams. Music Nation is a great community of people and I'm so glad to be a part. Thank you to both GAC and Music Nation for giving us the chance to showcase our material.

So it's finally come. The last day of this interesting competition. One last time I want to thank any and all who sent a vote my way during this crazy ride. At this point I think pretty much anybody can make a run for the top 20 and I'm sure by the end of the day the right people will be where they should be. Although I don't quite agree with the way this competition was handled, I'm kind of glad it did go down this way. There may or may not have been cheating in the beginning, people can complain that they didn't come up in the head to head player as many times as others, some may even consider it rigged. The way I look at is this: this is a community for musicians to meet, build relationships, and interact with other musicians who share the same passion for music as you do. These competitions are meant to help artists get heard by the whole community and bring other people into the community. For that I am thankful. I have been a part of many online music sites where artists put up their music, look for reviews, acceptance, and fame, basically whatever they can get. This is the only place where I actually felt like part of a community. I know it may seem like i'm just beating a dead horse saying how much I love you guys night after night now, but I just want to make sure the community knows that after this competition is all said and done I will still be here and I will still be showing love to all of my friends that I can honestly say are a part of my life now, and I have Music Nation to thank for it. Sorry i'm taking up so much space in your comment box haha i'll shutup now. Anyway, i'll end with saying its been a pleasure, and I can't wait to see how this turns out!
