Wow. I logged on this morning to see that we had made it to the semi-finals! What a great way to start the day. I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but thank you! This is the last week to really make your voice heard. Your votes are a big part of how the finalists will be chosen, so vote early, vote often and vote big! I have been hunkered down at home working on the music for last Saturday's show at the 92nd Street Y. It was stressful (tech went right up to moment that we opened the doors), but was a great success overall. I'd like to put one of the pieces up here or on YouTube soon, but as it samples some rather harrowing videos from other YouTube posters, I need to get their permission first. Hopefully, they will agree. I'm looking forward to sharing this new work with you very soon. One other thing: there have been several artists and groups of fans who have been very supportive of me here (Honore, A'Wun, Jon Mackinder and Andi Rae Healy). Please take the time to return the love to them. Much, much love from a sunny Lower East Side, m.

Here we go! Thanks to everyone who has supported "Que Podria" and "Samson" in these past weeks. It is a fantastic feeling to be in the quarterfinals and I owe it to all of you. As fate would have it, I was able to celebrate a bit with a trip to Costa Rica (that had been planned for months) that was very good for my spirit. I spent some time working on some more original pieces that I hope to be able to share very soon. In the meantime, be sure to check out my YouTube channel if you haven't already. Also, if you happen to be in New York City this weekend, come check out my performance at the 92nd Street Y on Saturday, May 5th at 7pm. Email me at matthewlukesandoval@gmail.com for more details.
