MESNER ILLEGALLY MELLOW ALBUM RELEASE IN SUMMER 07 MESNER, a well-known Irish alternative rock band, has come to the US on a serious mission to become one of the biggest selling independent rock artists of all time. And they have got everything it takes to do it, an original alternative rock sound, critically acclaimed rock anthems, strong identifiable vocals, a rich catalogue of songs, an electrifying live performance and a strong work ethic. The band became a household name in Ireland in the early 00s after they released four chart-topping hits (Flowers, Black n Orange, SJUG, Saturday) on their own label. In recent years, they have packed out the biggest live venues in Ireland, have featured regularly on the national airwaves and have performed at some of the country s major music festivals, playing to over 80,000 people at O2 in the Park & Witness. MESNER have been touted by music critics as the next major act out of Ireland. Frontman Brendan McEvoy s distinctive deep baritone voice, songwriting talent and outstanding stage presence, have singled him out as one of the hottest musical properties in Ireland. Drummer and percussionist, Mark Alfred, has been described by the Irish Times national newspaper as having his place in the top 30 drummers in the world. The most recent addition to the band, Balage Antal, is an extremely gifted lead guitar player and producer with a flair for creative guitar riffs, adding an extra dimension and emotion to the overall sound of the band. In early 2006, MESNER took the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles to pursue their musical ambitions further. And there has been no looking back for this Irish rock group. Though this project has been financed entirely by the band members, MESNER have taken no shortcuts. They have just finished recording their debut album, Illegally Mellow, in LA and plan to release it on their own label in the coming summer months. The album contains 11 original tracks that range from uptempo rock anthems like Only For You, NM Stone and Where Is Your Head At to melancholic tracks like Picture, Everyones In Need and Illegally Mellow. MESNER recently got to work with high profile Hollywood video production company, DNA, to shoot videos for their two upcoming singles, Where Is Your Head At and Only For You. Since arriving to LA, MESNER have created a stir on Sunset Strip packing out top venues like the Whisky, the Cat Club and the Viper Room. Word is spreading fast about MESNER. Indeed, they will feature as one of the main artists on a new music website, IndieZone, that will be launched in the coming months as a competitor to iTunes and has the backing of some of the biggest names in the business, including Rob Cavallo, President of Warner Bros. Word will travel even faster with top LA publicist, Bobbi Marcus, coming on board to promote the band. Equipped with an edgy alternative rock sound, exceptional musicianship, inspired songwriting and instantly recognizable lead vocals, MESNER have worked extremely hard to take the project this far independently and strongly believe that with a top class debut album now under their belt, they are one step closer to realizing their life long dream of becoming one of the biggest bands in the world. MESNER’s first single Where Is Your Head At will be released in May in select music stores and will be available online for download worldwide.
