    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Appeal of 18th June was a famous speech by Charles de Gaulle, the leader of the Free French Forces, in 1940. The appeal is the origin of the French Resistance to the German occupation during World War II. De Gaulle spoke to the French people from London after the fall of France. He declared the war for France was not yet over, and rallied the country in support of the Resistance. Translation of the speech On June 18, 1940, at 19:00, de Gaulle's voice was broadcast nationwide, saying: "The leaders who, for many years, were at the head of French armies, have formed a government. This government, alleging our armies to be undone, agreed with the enemy to stop fighting. Of course, we were subdued by the mechanical, ground and air forces of the enemy. Infinitely more than their number, it was the tanks, the airplanes, the tactics of the Germans which made us retreat. It was the tanks, the airplanes, the tactics of the Germans that surprised our leaders to the point to bring them there where they are today. "But has the last word been said? Must hope disappear? But nothing gets me going like hard music like this. It kinda sounded to me, like a way heavier Nirvana as far as the catchiness, but with better vox and better guitars. There's some classic rock elements here too, but with in-fucking-credible vox that can screech and scream, as well as sing. Kris Grimes' vocals, to me, is a cross between Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) and Chester Bennington (Linkin Park). But just as he has his own voice, TAP has their own sound that will kick your ass and make you "TAP" out!) Also check out the live video version of this song "COOKIE CUTTER GIRL, POP SUPERHERO, Live Concert in Boston,MA". The whole band is amazing! She's hella hot too, but don't tell her I said that. And very different I might add. Loaded with kickass guitar work, hella hot beats, and vocals that make you feel it! For me, them having other songs like "Carnival" and "LockJaw", Ped X seals the deal as being one of the most all around impressive bands around. Their name should be in "Neon" lights everywhere soon) Pop Dolls: "Validation Dance" http://musicnation.com/music/popdolls/validation-dance (Dude! Dude dude dude! I absolutely love Pop Dolls! They are hard to explain, but for me they have that kind of underground ROCK sound of the 70's and 80's, but with a current sound using electro and effects very well, in the most perfect places. Plus lots of hooks and very cool vox! I had a hard time picking 1 song, as "Magazines" is another awesome one, along with an incredible video! Hot looks and HOT music, made me do a "Validation" dance for them being as Original as much as just all around great!) Christy Jones: "SICK" http://musicnation.com/music/christyjones/sick (First of all, mad props for this girls incredible love for music. She expresses this love for music just as much as, or more than anyone I've ever seen. So willing to please and offering any challenge that you can come up with, via singing. And her singing I might add, ranges in multiples, from smooth Top 40, to gritty Rock. Her song "Sick" isn't what you'd expect from this sweetie. With weird and rockin melodic keyboards, she wrote, played, and sang this perfectly. She also sang this song, with a "sick" feel, while keeping it right on and somehow..... sexy. Sexy and sick? Go figure., but she did it. Promise! I can surely see this being a hit on the radio/mtv/vh-1, and you'll agree.) Danielle Kalil: "Honesty" http://musicnation.com/music/danik/honesty (Oh my! After you fall in love with her picture on the player, and just when you think that nothing could take you away from that.....BAM! Her voice captivates you. And if that wasn't enough... she rocks hard! She's listed as PoP, but her rock level is like Lita Ford, but with a Gwen Stefani (When Gwen was cool) type of "sultry" vox, which she perfectly explains in her bio. Smooth, with just enough rasp to make it ROCK. Her vocal abilities I guarantee, will impress you. I was throwing roses at my screen. lol. I did!) Justine Wilde: "Hired Hand" http://musicnation.com/music/justinewilde/hired-hand (One of my favs here on MN, Justine is very poetic in her lyrics, and even in just the way she communicates. She has multi talents and experiences, whether it be movies, music, poetry, or whatever as she has done it all. But listening to this song, in the rawest form, you'll see that she has great music writing and vocal abilities as well. It to me, sounded like one of those kick ass songs that would be in a Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez film. Which I guess, fits the bill considering her love for all arts. You will be reminded of the great Grace Slick when you hear her. Justine has chops, flair, class, and looks that kill!) A-beat-a-beat-a-beat-that's all folks!
