BUSINESS TIME: CONCHORDS SET SPRING TOUR

With a second record -- and second HBO season -- on the horizon, Flight of the Conchords has slated a brief summer tour. Nice work, Murray!

Conchords members Jemaine and Brett got their start in New Zealand as a live musical comedy duo. Their songs -- and their well-honed live banter -- was eventually turned into last summer's popular TV series about two budding New York City musicians.

Pollstar is reporting that the pair will return to the stage on these dates:

May 5: Upper Darby, PA (Tower Theatre)

May 6: New York, NY (Town Hall)

May 7: New York, NY (Town Hall)

May 9: Washington, DC (Lisner Auditorium)

May 10: Ann Arbor, MI (Michigan Theater)

May 11: Milwaukee, WI (Riverside Theatre)

May 13: Minneapolis, MN (Orpheum Theatre)

May 14: Chicago, IL (Chicago Theatre)

May 15: Denver, CO (Ellie Caulkins Opera House)

Somewhere, superfan Mel is beside herself.

As for your faithful blogger, I will be looking out for a live performance of personal favorite, Inner City Pressure.

Not only this a spot-on send-up of Pet Shop Boys, it's strangely therapeutic for any artist trying to ply his or her trade in expensive, unsympathetic Gotham.

Sometimes your best bet really is to stay home and play synthesizers.

The Flight of the Conchords self-titled full-length album is out April 22 on Sub Pop.
