REMIX NUDE, FOR RADIOHEAD
Thu, Apr 03, 2008, 6:13 PMRemember last year when Radiohead let fans pay what they wished to download In Rainbows? And remember when you were so blown away by such an innovative marketing approach that you paid full price anyway?
Yeah, right.
Now it seems that Radiohead is not just intent on giving you the power to name your price, but also to let you hear the music as you see fit.
In their latest ahaed-of-the-curve promotion, Radiohead is letting fans download five "stems" from iTunes -- i.e.., vocals, bass, drums, effects, guitars -- and remix new single "Nude."
This site gives the details, and showcases some of the best efforts.
Other artists (Prince comes to mind) have given fans remix options in the past, and anyone with decent recording software can go to town on most any song and rework it ad nauseum.
But is there any band that does this kind of thing more elegantly than Radiohead?
That's it. I'm remixing OK Computer. I'm sure I can turn "Fitter, happier" into a hit single.

I say give up the ghost and work on something a little more substantial. Chasing shadows or corraling spirits is not my cup of tea and from the way you write this blog, I can see it is not yours either. Well who can tell when knumbness is the receptor site generator. 40,000 folks think that singer Mark Holman from Holworks is putting the M back in music, . . .wow, . . Harbor Horn vocals you can actually understand? One song idea per song? Direct message? Hmmmmmm, . . .Holworkshttp://musicnation.com/music/holworks/playlist/211041
