WEILAND GETS EIGHT DAYS IN THE CLINK
Tue, Apr 29, 2008, 4:42 PMSinger-rocker-trainwreck Scott Weiland pulled a neat trick of good timing last month, when he announced a Stone Temple Pilots reunion tour just two days after getting the boot from "supergroup" Velvet Revolver.
Good timing, meet bad timing. The vocalist was sentenced today to eight days in jail for a drunk driving incident from November of last year, and he is slated to serve that time at the end of May -- just one week after STP was scheduled to begin its 65-city retro lap around the country.
Weiland was also sentenced to four years of unsupervised probation, and he must enroll in an 18-month alcohol program. (Presumably an anti-alcohol program.)
STP version 2.0 is off to a bad, predictable start.
Perhaps the good timing was really Velvet Revolver's.
Sidenote: Does Slash go through with plans to find someone less prone to willful illegalities to replace Weiland in Velvet Revolver? Or does he reform with Axl Rose for the renunion of another certain supergroup?

Mark Holman says
Reform and recognize,. . .straight steps, but if Slash has nothing better to do and reads this blog (Ha), I have another 20 or so songs that need killer guitar solos that will allow you complete creative freedom. So stop wasting time with all those step children and step up to the real deal, . . .yeah that Mark Holman guy who sings Harbor Horn as uniquely as the tenor you are accustomed to hearing. Let's finish Carolina Commons Slash!!!!!http://musicnation.com/music/holworks/playlist/211041
