JACK WHITE, ALICIA KEYS DUET FOR 007
Thu, Jul 31, 2008, 05:18 PMLanding the theme song to a James Bond flick can be a real career-marker. The forthcoming Bond installment "Quantum of Solace" (the oddly named film is set for U.S. release this Novemeber) was meant to showcase "troubled" retro-R&B singer Amy Winehouse, but Winehouse was reportedly too "troubled" to complete the track.
It wasn't hard to solicit replacements.
Pop stars from Duffy to Leona Lewis were rumored to be in line to replace Winehouse. Cooler heads prevailed, however, and Jack White and Alicia Keys will take over from here. The pair's "Another Way To Die," written and produced by White, is the first Bond theme song to feature a duet.
That sounds promising. But this blog is well aware where the bar is set for top Bond theme songs. It may not be a duet, but dig this band effort. What a coup to hire a band that just so happens to be made up of five high-tech spies.
