ROCKETT NOT TALKING DIRTY TO ANYONE
Wed, Jul 02, 2008, 3:02 PMOn Tuesday, July 1, authorities dropped rape charges against Poison drummer Rikki Rockett. The glam-metal-star is once again free to rock his mano corna (finger devil horns) and strut his tight leather pants without raising suspicion as a sexual offender. Phew, close call.
Early this year in March, Rockett was arrested in LA for rape charges filed by a woman in Mississippi. Evidence showed that Rockett was, in fact, not in Mississippi when the rape was alleged in September 2007. “I was with my fiancé, watching her try on wedding dresses,” Rockett told The Associated Press.
Authorities say they are now after a John Minskoff with a record of pretending to be famous rock stars to seduce women. Smooth. But, question: how is that rape exactly?
Here’s the sitch: A man devises a plan to seduce chicks into his bed by impersonating celebrity rock stars, like Rockett. Similar to the reliability of Newton’s laws on gravity, women have no chance against the testosterone-laced allure of a rock-and-roller. Minskoff’s ploy paid off – apparently he scored himself the prosecuting gal at a casino, and seven months later she calls rape and points her finger at Rockett.
“That is one word you don’t want associated with your name,” Rockett said. “Rape is right up there with murder and child molestation.” Sure he has a couple tattoos and sometimes sports an entire pawn shop of metal chains and rings, but the poor guy was so shaken by the accusations that he held an ‘exoneration benefit party’ on Saturday to raise money for the Centurion Ministries, an organization that helps those facing fraudulent charges.
His rough-edged act of thrash drummer may make him an easy target for suspicion, but come on, the guy’s a vegan and an animal rights activist (plus he wears eyeliner).
