Just yesterday, Richard Wright, a founding member of the group, Pink Floyd, lost his battle to cancer. He died a mere four days after the band disbanded for good. A statement was posted on their official website stating that, “The family of Richard Wright, founder member of Pink Floyd, announce with great sadness, that Richard died today after a short struggle with cancer. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.” The English band was known for their psychedelic music, which eventually changed the face of rock music. Wright lent his tremendous talents to the band by way of his keyboard skills, lead and background vocals, and his unforgettable compositions. He will surely live on through his music.
