YES WE CAN! GET DISCOVERED ONLINE

Music Nation is all about creating unique avenues for artists and bands to gain some insta-fame via the internets. Benoit David -- the new singer for the legendary prog-rock outfit Yes -- proves just how helpful the world wide web can be to unknown acts.

David is a singer in not one, but several, Yes tribute bands in Montreal. When Yes rain-checked its much-anticipated 40th anniversary tour earlier this year due to singer Jon Anderson's illness, they quickly sought out a replacement for Anderson.  Through YouTube, Yes bassist Chris Squire discovered David and offered him an audition, which he passed. David -- and this is true -- thought at first that he was being Punk'd!

In fact, Yes was simply following the same path as Journey, who selected Steve Perry-esque crooner Arnel Pineda from searching YouTube clips.

Maybe the next mega-band in search of a new singer -- or guitarist, or bassist, or oboe specialist -- will surf Music Nation instead.

All the more reason to keep your clips current!

(And all the more reason to join -- or start -- a tribute band today.)

I dunno if I've spent my life to stand in place of another star ~ a cover (tribute ) band is not who I am ~ or ever wanted to be . . .
Maybe the next ORIGINAL big thing will be coming from the pages of MN ? I will be seeing you at the Grammys !!!!!!!!!!
