The Next GAC Star - Bye Week

Hey Everyone- My name is Jeremy Duggins and I am from Danielsville, Georgia. Thanks for listening to my music and voting. The song "The Gift" is a true story about a friend of mine's two sons. His youngest son, Peyton, was diagnosed with cancer just after his first birthday. Peyton was going through treatments and people in the community were doing benefits for them. They were getting ready to go to a benefit when Peyton's older brother, who was nine at the time, ran back in the house. They didn't know what he was doing but when they got back home later that night, they found out. Ethan had put all of his money in an envelope and placed it on his parents bed with a note. He had given his parents the money to use for his little brother. When they saw the money and the note, they began to cry and talk about how much they loved their children and talk about how good God has been to them during this time. As I heard about this story, I just started putting it into a song for them to have and here it is! I hope you enjoy it. Now, a little more about me, I have been singing and writing music for about ten years now and I love it! Just this year, I started writing some country songs to go along with the Christian music that I have been writing for years. I also just became a member of the Nashville Songwritters Association(NSAI) where two of my christian songs have been recommended to the Evaluator's Luncheon this year. To pay the bills, I am a Land Surveyor in Athens, I make stew at my wife's family's resturant, Zeb's BBQ, and I lead worship at a church on Sunday mornings. If you would like to know anything else, just ask. Hope you enjoy my music.

Hey Jeremy, thanks again for the comments. No, I am not a member of the NSA - I suppose that stands for "National Songwriters Association"? However, it sounds like I should be LOL! If you could send me some information regarding how to get in touch with them, who to contact, and the cost of joining, I would really appreciate it. You can send to my mail here or on my myspace page, or my personal email - rickeywright@cableone.net
    Thanks again, Rickey

    Hey Jeremy,
Thanks for the comments on my page! Yes, I am now currently in Contemporary Christian Music, although you might not know it by the songs that I have posted. I have been singing Christian music for the past 30 years or so, and just within the last year or two, decided to try my hand at secular music. I have recently gone back to my roots and began writing Christian songs again. However, at this time, my budget will not allow for recording new material - which is kind of frustrating, because God is giving me all of these new songs, and I haven't figured out a way to share them. But yes, my direction is in the path of Christian music. Great news about your song, I hope all works out with that, and I will keep you in my prayers. I have been down that road before, where someone wanted to use one of my songs for film, but nothing ever transpired. Take care, Rickey
