Music Nation is a Music Video Competition for Independent Artists

The PRiCKS are: SMA on vocals & bass, Tim Smith on Guitar, Royle also on guitar, and Justin Smith on the drums. Since their inception in 1996, the PRiCKS have been blazing a trail of self-destruction and successful chaos; from their early days as a 3 piece with drug fueled shows and outright bar room brawls, to the fact that to this day, certain establishments remain unnecessarily PRiCKS free. IT DOESN’T MATTER. In the previous year alone, along with many regular gigs with other locals, the PRiCKS have opened for: the Misfits, Michale Graves, Rise Against, Blood on the Saddle, Wednesday 13, Six Ounce Gloves, and From First to Last. And they’ve played the Rockin’ Roots Festival in Bakersfield, Ca. which also featured Kottonmouth Kings, the Millionaires, OPM, and EEK-A-MOUSE. That’s just the LAST 12 MONTHS! Even during their checkered past, the PRiCKS were rubbing elbows with great bands, opening for Weezer, Michale Graves and Dr. CHUDD, Toxic Narcotic, and seminal punk band Total Chaos. Who, after some successful gigs together, invited the PRiCKS to tour with them. However due to line-up changes in both bands the idea had to be scrapped. Over time the PRiCKS have also enjoyed having many songs receive airtime on both of the rock stations out of Fresno, Ca. with the release of each of their self-released albums: Corrupt Youth of America or C.Y.A. in 1999, No Way Out in 2001, and 2007’s the PRiCKS. In late 2007, the PRiCKS had the distinction of not only being the featured artist on Rock 104.1’s ‘Home Grown’ show but also opening for the Misfit’s the same night! In early 2008, they scored another coup by being the first band to be featured twice on the ‘Home Grown’ show, and were also the spotlight artist on KRZR’s local band show once again, on the same night! If there’s one thing the past year has shown, it’s that the PRiCKS are 4 hard working individuals who, when united are virtually unstoppable. When it comes to subject matter, and musical styling, the PRiCKS are all over the place. All the while doing it while sounding like no other band around. Songs like the sing-along-sex-song Point Of No Return, the pissed-at-the-government We The People, ‘the Shining’ inspired Dull Boy Jack, and the flat-out rockers: Stab You In The Throat, Good Lickin’ Tonight, and the ever-popular Blood showcase a wide variety of influences and guarantee a wide scope of appeal as the PRiCKS have gained fans ranging in age from 12 to 60+ both male and female. People know that when they’re gonna see the PRiCKS, they’re gonna be entertained. One may even hear the PRiCKS doing one of their unique covers of songs like: Boyz-N-Da-‘Hood by N.W.A., Ballroom Blitz by Sweet, Caress Me Down by Sublime or maybe even the George Jones classic, He Stopped Loving Her Today You see, when it comes to the PRiCKS live, they are a can’t miss opportunity as they relish the chance to perform whenever they can!
