Different Way was born in early 2005 when the band started their second writing session. Bret and Dan got the ball rolling with some cord ideas and the overall focus on the topic. The band wanted a song with a strong acoustic guitar hook, as well as a mid-tempo flowing chorus. After a few ideas were passed around the story lines for each verse were arranged and the rest just fell into place. The lyrics were written in a way that almost everyone could find some way to related their own situations and events into the song. It is one of the most honest and true song in the bands catalog to date.
