Take a chance on me was the start of a new way of writing for the band. After the release of All Access writing began for the bands second batch of songs. The guys wanted to keep the same sound as the first album but at the same time take some of the high polished vocal harmonies and elaborate guitar riffs and basically simplify them. The band started going through the stock pile of song ideas until they came across what was to be the opening riff of the song. The band knew they wanted to tell a full story in the lyrics. With that in mind, the song title Make a move on me came along. After the song went through a few rough drafts the title was changed to Take a chance on me. The first time the band rehearsed the song they new they had found the sound they were looking for. The song quickly became the bands show stopper at live performances. Its simple but driving guitar and catchy sing-a-long chorus has always left the fans wanting more. While recording the song, the band thought it would be great to have some of their friends and family to sing in the chorus. What they accomplished was # 1, a great full crowd sound that represents what you might hear when the song is preformed live, and more importantly a living tribute to all the family and friends that have been supporting the band since day one! This is the song that found and captured the Pyromatic Sound for all future songs and albums to be based on.
