HIP-HOP IS DEAD. Nas said what I've been saying since the late-nineties. The Corporations have monopolized the industry and a generation of prostitute-rappers has been born. With the exception of a few rap veterans and the underground, some originality can still be found. I'm not a Political Rapper. I'm not a Gangsta Rapper. I'm not a Pop Artist. I'm not one of these rappers that claims to be "on some other shit" then goes and makes nothing but typical tracks. I make music based on how I'm feeling at the time. And at this point in time, WAR happens to be a part of daily life. Not only the War in Iraq, but also the never-ending Religious War, Race War, Class War, Culture War, Gang War, and the War within ourselves. Music has always been my gift and burden. It is my weapon in the fight for change, and it is the parasite that keeps me up at night.
