Charlie, charlie...when will you ever learn? The true football is within.
Experience Charlie's story... Charlie's story is a very important, fundamental myth for the inhabitants of Ionydia. They have thrived as a people, fully self-sufficient and isolated from the 'civilized' world for millenia. According to the belief of these people, this world, our waking life, that is, is, in fact, not as real as one's dream-world. Scientists believe this view was influenced by the presence of a highly nutritious and delectable hallucinogenic plant species, found only on their tropical island, which contains a major component of typical LSD ("acid," "'cid," "tabs," "blotter," "hits," "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.") The Ionydians have maintained a practice of ritual consumption of this plant's essence since ancient times. During the ceremony for ingesting the "Tak Lu," the hallucinogenic fern found on Ionydia, the elders oversee a group of dedicated meditators of the island in a process of detoxification through the use of sweatlodges and fasting with a kind of yoga. After this step comes to an end, the disciples venture into the barren canyon of Ionydia where they run and dance or sleep or meditate. Some musical and artistic practices are only to be done at the ceremony. The youth of the island have just recently begun revolting in the face of the somewhat rigid guidelines of the predominant religion by recreating the trance-induced music of the ceremony in public and at random occasions. The conservative sect of the Ionydian religion believes that these youths are risking the induction of powerful and dangerous trance states in the population at large without proper preparation or circumstances. This movement has been at odds with the phenomenon which is now enveloping the island of Ionydia. If the present trend continues, the music of Ionydian ritual group trippings will soon be readily available from musicologists at work on the island. The world anxiously awaits...
