The Next GAC Star - Bye Week

This is the Band ----- 2 Drunks and A Guitar. We are just 2 guys that have been playing together for a while, just drinking beer and writing songs. We were told by other friends we should share the songs with other people outside of the small group that hears us play around the fire, or in the barn. So here are some samples for you to enjoy. We're sitting around drinking beer and making up songs. Not trying to prove anything except we have fun! If you like the music please tell us, and tell your friends. If we have enough people that like us we will post more music. We would really like to know what you think. In the mean time......we're having funRicks personal Bio....Rick started playing 6 string country guitar about the age of 10 years old. At that time living in Festus Mo. At the age of 14 the family move to St Louis where Rick was introduced to Rock music, and the bass guitar. As time went on Rick started several garage and basement bands working on his writing skills, and the new instrument, the bass guitar. Eventuly Rick started a local copy band called RAZZ which brought JR Richardson in the picture as the 3rd guitarist for Razz. They had the.sure of being the opening act for Billy Thourpe on his last American tour. Also opening up for the Michale Stanley Band at 6 Flags over MidAmerica. That is the night their drummer became very sick and was hopsitalized. Their booking agent made several frantic calls to keep the gig going, and was able to get the drummer from the John Cougar Mellencamp band, Tommy Knowles to sit in with the band that night. Later that night 6 Flags told Rick that was one of the craziest night they had that year at 6 Flags. Complete success! Razz went on to be a favorite band in one of the night clubs Chuck Berry owned in Wentzville Mo for about 3 years. The club The Backroom, later changed owners and names to The Homplate Lounge, and kept Razz as the headliner act. But as fate would have it, the band Rick and JR Richardson worked so hard to keep hot, ended. Rick and JR Richardson continued to keep writing together and playing , and writing songs in the barn in Licking Mo. Not really focusing on the " playing out" thing, but just having some fun playing for friends in the barn and around the pond. "We like our beer and love our friends", Rick said. We love playing for them and trust their opinons. When they kept saying over and over we should put our songs out for everyone to hear, eventually that is what we did, said JR Richardson. Both guys laughing, they admitted that the band was named 2 Drunks and A Guitar for a reason by their fans in the barn.

    I also wanna say congrats to everyone in this comp for getting heard and getting the recognition that you all deserve. I know I at times displayed my emotions in ways that was not cool. But it's all in the growing up department, and we all evolved from this. Just keep keeping it real, and we will once again (soon I hope), be side by side in our quest for success and being HEARD! Here's another idea for being heard! There's a new page on MN called "Collaboration Nation" for the listing of music that are collabs between 2 or more artists on MN. It's not just there you can be heard, but if you collaborate with other artists in other genres, then your limitations to which contests you can enter just opened up to an endless selection.     So it's finally come. The last day of this interesting competition. One last time I want to thank any and all who sent a vote my way during this crazy ride. At this point I think pretty much anybody can make a run for the top 20 and I'm sure by the end of the day the right people will be where they should be. Although I don't quite agree with the way this competition was handled, I'm kind of glad it did go down this way. There may or may not have been cheating in the beginning, people can complain that they didn't come up in the head to head player as many times as others, some may even consider it rigged. The way I look at is this: this is a community for musicians to meet, build relationships, and interact with other musicians who share the same passion for music as you do. These competitions are meant to help artists get heard by the whole community and bring other people into the community. For that I am thankful. I have been a part of many online music sites where artists put up their music, look for reviews, acceptance, and fame, basically whatever they can get. This is the only place where I actually felt like part of a community. I know it may seem like i'm just beating a dead horse saying how much I love you guys night after night now, but I just want to make sure the community knows that after this competition is all said and done I will still be here and I will still be showing love to all of my friends that I can honestly say are a part of my life now, and I have Music Nation to thank for it. Sorry i'm taking up so much space in your comment box haha i'll shutup now. Anyway, i'll end with saying its been a pleasure, and I can't wait to see how this turns out!

    I just want to thank all of my friends for their constant support and love throughout the past few months. I'm so glad I joined this site and am so thankful for all of the wonderful people i've met here. I wanted to take a second to wish everyone the best of luck in this last week of the Spin Pursuit and tell everyone who makes the finals not to take it for granted. There are 476 people who would kill for the spot you will have and I hope you know how talented and loved you are to be able to make it there. For those who don't win or make the finals, never give up. I know i won't. Cherish the relationships you've developed throughout this ride and consider yourself lucky to have done so. There will be other opportunities for you. As for the winner, I will be behind you 100% and wish you the best throughout your career as I will be following it. I truly love everyone that I have been blessed to meet on this site and you are all very dear to me. So once again, good luck, God bless, and i hope we have a great finish to this thing!
