JAZZ ISN'T QUITE DEAD, YET

Just wanted to let everyone know that I recently added some Jazz tunes to my page. I know it's a niche thing and some can be kinda boring (I know, I'm a Rocker too), but this may be a bit different than you may think.

The word Jazz can mean many different things, so I have up:

A high energy hard core fusion tune - Cold Fusion(Chocolate Milk), recently, by the way, reviewed in Guitar Player Mag, on my 2nd blog,

A spacy dreamy ballad - (Ode To Trane),

A purely improvised sort of experimental guitar and vibraphone duet - (The Other Side),

And a straight up walking-bass-line style thing - (What If...).

All are performed by the GVQ, Rick Weingarten - vibes, Bruce Crisman - drums, Tom S. - bass, and me on guitar.

All these were recorded live on a shoe string budget by people who are used to playing live. All under rushed conditions, in one day and on the first take, except Cold Fusion, which was the second take. Serious thanks to Dave Stratten at Code 6 Studios in the Denver area for capturing it so well, and to Mike Pappas at KUVO Radio 89.3, Denver for the same.

If you listen to anything ELSE on my page (please do), and aren't digging what you hear, go to the next tune and it will be an almost completely different bag.

Thanks very much to those that have already been by, and to those who will. I'm trying to hear eventually ALL of you, but am still on dial-up, so in the time it takes to hear one song, I should have heard about FIVE, and what I've heard so far has been so great that I'm looking forward to cable internet, but I just got this (my first) computer 2 or 3 months ago, so I'm WAY BEHIND...

If you feel it, let me know, RRT
