Lucy was precious, and my girl. She would ride on the back of my shoulders, wrapped around my neck, rubbing her beautiful head against me and purring. Letting me know always and unconditionally how much she loved and adored me and how much I loved and adored her... Over the years I have had dreams of her, running to me as Lucy would, and jumping up into my arms... recently, I had this same dream but it felt so very very real. When she jumped into my arms, I felt her life and her warm body against me and just cried into her beautiful coat so very happy that she came back to me. It was such a beautiful beautiful dream... I have missed her so... Through my tears I wrote this song for my Lucy in April of this year and my voice broke at the end of the song but I just left it in. This very personal song and sharing my story of Lucy is my heart at it's purest...
What an amazingly powerful song. I can feel your love in every chord and your soul in every word. Truly an inspiring work. You write directly from your heart. The bonds of love are what carry us through this mortality into the next, where I am sure your Lucy awaits.
And when i got to the part "sometimes in my dreams", man....Got me all teary-eyed. I love songs that are written through emotion, and that's what this song is about!
