Messala's Pride

Description:
This is a song I wrote about the character Messala in the famous movie Ben-Hur. It's in the point of view of Messala. I tried to capture his arrogance, apathy, and malice. Messala's Pride ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have defended Rome. I'm my own god. So where is my throne. Many an army Have spilt their sons blood. So know it's time to spill my homes. Chorus: Meet me at the circus of malcontent. I will cheat my way to the end, to make sure my message sent. I will slay I will bight, I will kill, I will fight. So all will fear me And bow down to my glorious crown of ivy. Judah, my dear friend. Can't accept. His peoples time is at an end. Some rabbi preaches that god's with in. Well how can that be. When I am he. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chorus: Meet me at the circus of malcontent. I will cheat my way to the end, to make sure my message sent. My message sent. I will slay I will bight, I will kill, I will fight. So all will fear me. And bow down to my glorious crown of ivy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am the tribune Messala. For those who chase their faith. Better not cross my path now honey, cause you surly. Undoubtedly will break. Chorus: I will cheat I will lie. I will kill I will fight. And all in Jeddah will fear me. And bow down to my crown of ivy.

Love the Smiths reverb guitar intro mixed with the Sabbath feel of the song nice...Daryan says
this is more laid back and mellow than the others, though it definitely still builds to a strong close. i like how the story unfolds in the verses while the instrumentation intensifies.101010 says
I like this one the best.Holworks Music says
Messala's Prayer opens with this gaited guitar that is a precursor to the Roman chariot race that is portrayed in Somer's unique vocal structure. This is a very unique song and has several jumping off points that can be expanded. I like it very much - Mark
