The Sonic Messiah - my story.....
Hello. You all know me as Adam, or Sonic, for the most part. I recently joined Music Nation after seeing an ad for the 'Slash Showdown' on Ultimate Guitar, so I decided to join. Since then, I have been here and there, leaving my mark in various ways, entering comps (and backing out of them) as I see fit, and listening to some GREAT music by artists on this site along the way.
Obviously, I began my career long before all of this.
I have been performing since kindergarden - be it dance (discontinued in 8th grade), singing, and later playing drums, guitar, vocals and bass in studio projects and live bands, or performing in plays and doing narrating work. I even managed to have a song played on (local) radio, and be able to license a song to a movie. I have danced/sang in front of millions on t.v. for FREE, and played in front of 2 people for more money than I dare mention. I have done a little bit of EVERYTHING, and draw from it all. I'm not the best, I'm not the worst, and I'm still young with a ways to go - but I'm wise beyond my 28 years. I recently (last seven years) have added producer and editor to my list of skills, and have even started my own media production company - WF Media - out of my home recording studio. I begin my radio broadcast degree in the fall.
This isn't bragging - it's my resume. You have to know where I come from to know why I say/think the things I do, right?
There is speculation about the origin/use of my Sonic Messiah Moniker. Well, long ago (maybe 6 years?), I was dubbed The Sonic Messiah because of my ability to use car stereo speakers as effective mics, my hands-on manual control of tape on my 4-tracks for REEEAAAALY interesting effects, and my general recording ability DESPITE the fact that I have no schooling in the area. i think the comment that led to the name was this: 'Dude, yer either some kind of sonic messiah, or just f*ckin nuts!' And so it has stuck for about 6 years.
Well, my 'stage' name - The Sonic Messiah - is what I'm using from now on. It has sold me THUS far, and may continue to do so... or not. It has even been used in local print in refrence to me. I only yeilded the 'messiah' part on MN because of one Altruistic Messiah that has been here BEFORE me (out of respect) - but, why sell myself short in the process? I am who I am, and it has always been, will always be. It's not a facade, it's me. No offence, various other messiahs. There is only one of ME, as there is only one of YOU.
There is my story. Now, let's do what we do best - criticize, mimick, learn, play, and appreciate.

Adam , Baby , I am quite pleased that you have resumed using your full name , as I had planned to use my very most manipulative skills to help you re-realize the same presence you have had on My Space & for the last few years as well, and rightfully displayed up until within 5 minutes of our very 1st encounter. I've always recognized that missing part of your identity in my communications with you both here and on My Space , & am finally able to shed the guilt I have felt since that 1st encounter !That is a very interesting footnote about transducer technology , as many musicians do not realize the vibes we put into a mic are not at all unlike the vibes that come out of a speaker , much less that the medium is identical ! Welcome Back ~ Sonic Messiah , as you've saved me have to convey true identity thru my feeble attempts ~ as my next tactic was to be calling you " the hedgehog " !
