The sonic Messiah Reviewed in local news...

I got a phone call this morning from my band manager, and he seemed excited! Apparently, our equipment manager Ron had read the local paper (Kenosha, WI)this morning, and in the 'Get Out' section, there is an article about little 'ol me - much to my suprise! So, I went to the corner store, and picked up the paper. This is what I read, on page 14 of the 'Get Out' section, under the title of 'Schmitt works on solo gigs; Summerfest seeks bands', written by Paddy Fineran:

Man of many talents

"Hey, musicians. Was one of your New Year's resolutions to do a better job of staying in touch with your family and friends? With sites like MySpace these days, ther's really no reason other than not enough time in your day to not let people know what's going on.Fans want to connect with their musical heroes. They want them to believe that the artist is thinking of them. They basically want to be involved. A local artist who frequently lets his fans and friends know what's going on is Adam Schmitt.

While many people know Schmitt as the rocking guitarist and singer for Caustic Burn, More and more people are beginning to place him as the centerpiece of the hard place that is insrumental guitar music. A quick listen to Schmitt's side project, The Sonic Messiah, shows the Springfield, Ill born performer to be much more than meets the eye at first blog reading. "Untitled" and "Brianna" both show Schmitt to possess depth of songwriting and dexterity of performance chops.

According to Schmitt's website - www.myspace.com/sonicmessiah - the multi-instrumentalist producer also 'writes, records and produces all kinds of music, from rap to pop-acoutic to metal.'

Look for more to come from the fertile mind of the man known as The Sonic Messiah.

(Now, as for the name. I guess when you're between rock and that hard place the best place to go is up.)

Schmitt's band Caustic Burn performs tonight (Jan. 11) at sharky's @ Lakes Bowl, 601 W. Illinois Route 134 in Round Lake, Ill, and Jan. 26 at Screamin' Mimi's, 2717, 60th St. here in town."

That's a mighty fine review, I'd say. Awesome. Only good things will come of that. I'd like to extend thanks to Paddy Fineran for the article, and to whomver tipped him off about me. Im glad he could see past the MySpace blogs, and hear what I intended in my music. Maybe he's not so bad, after-all! ;)

I want to thank my supporters and my fans. Maybe this is the push that will get me out there playing with my own band, to bring my passion to those that will bear witness. I do it for me, sure.. but I ultimately do it for YOU.

I'd like to see THAT in print, lol!

Peace, to all that deserve it

-Adam Schmitt

Hey Congrats Adam - May all that you wish come true. It has for me and a lot of it has to do with this site. I just put up what I want to happen and it does. The blogs tell. - Mark
