The WILD Side

Date Added: October 27, 2007

MP3 Description:

A song by Ben Vandagriff a.k.a. The Altruistic Messiah - about my friend Debbie Wilder whom I adore. Compositionally ~ the wild side is one of my proudest moments ~ as romantic contemporary is a very far cry from what I would normally play like . The other day one of my oldest friends , whom used to write & play keyboards with me in one of my early `80's bands that featured mostly female band mates & 4 part female vocal harmonies (along w/ MY voice) said it sounded like Earl Klug. I still took it as a compliment !!!!!

I like the freshness and uplifting spirit this song brings, like the variable melodic themes,
of course the guitar sets the tone for the other instruments, very good job on the production!!!

How could the Wild Man resist this title, I mean, being a state certified, tri-polar octophrenic.
Fabulous drum touches. You have a feeling for mixing sound tapestries like a master visual artist would exploit his/her palette and brush strokes. I Nostradamusly see into (this decade) the near future, a 1000-song Altruistic Messiah 80 CD set which will not only cheer up and delight the world, but the proceeds will take us from that pivotal point (right now, like you said) to a complete overhaul of Civilization which will improve at the speed of technology. Great job in advance!!!

Loved it, nice touch and emotion this song conveys.
I picture myself and my lovely wife outside of very quaint cafe in Itialy on a nice cool breez of an evening, the huge amber sun is slowly venturing to the horizon to end its day, sippin wine and loving every minute of this moment for ever to be remembered.

    Than you for that Ben!

Simply great Ben.. I love acoustic guitar sound on the intro.. (a sample?) the Latin feel with he bongos and the chord movements you use .. and the modulations you use are timely in fashion.. I am more of a guitarist but I do have some pieces that i have not put up that are similar in nature to this but no where near as thought out. plus I don;t "program" much.. as you know I am more from the improv side of town. I wish I were as organized as you.. ;)

The Wild Side from the Altruistic Messiah - Ben Vandagriff is a true testiment to musical evolution in that the complexity of the parts are simplistic building blocks layered in mood major chords that prompt the elation receptors in my brain. I can work to this music as the measuere of time escapes mortal measure. Beyond introspection, beyond revelation, I am extended to the heartiness of intertwining melodies that comfort me, envelope me, and make me smile. You are soooooo good. I am an acolyte. I want to write words but will refrain this time.
