Info

Four sonically varied and seasoned Toronto musicians came together in the wee hours of 2006 to form the backing band for acclaimed singer-songwriter Janine Stoll. Paul MacDougall (electric guitar) and Liam Smith (bass) of Juno nominated afro-funk outfit Mr. Something Something, provided musical tour support to Stoll in April of 2006 to help bring her record This is where we bury it to the listening audiences of Canada’s East Coast. At that time, the three were happily known as the Janine Stoll Trio. Since then the trio has grown to include the percussive addition of Brian Lahaie (Super Stack, Greg Hobbs, Angie Nussey). After playing some high profile shows as a full band (OCFF Official Showcase in 2006, Open Door Music Festival, The Junction Arts Festival, Plan B Harvest Festival, etc.) the culmination of each individual’s talents in providing stunning arrangements for the material proved to form an entity equal in all its parts and worthy of a full-on collaborative effort. The DoneFors were born. Stoll’s songwriting and noted vocal prowess provide the backbone to the brunt of The DoneFors material. Crass, honest, vulnerable, and thought provoking in her writing, a listener would be challenged to walk away from a Janine Stoll song feeling indifference. Presently, The DoneFors are embarking on exciting and surprisingly smooth terrain of co-songwriting and recording new and unique material as a group. What is being produced by this quartet defies any concrete pigeonholing which is why they’ve chosen to refer to what they do as Canadiana Vanguard. Spanning genres and stretching boundaries — offering up decadent ambiguity. The DoneFors are thrilled to be bringing their music to the masses.

Full of hot errand all pumped to capacity...
Trying not to care, gettin' nowhere with tenacity... Each right-click is how I glue my CMOR schtick... Theatric like a hat-trick with a snicker of audacity... May all your clicks be doubly fun... All your copyrights left in the sun... May your hell become a hello... And may your smell remain smellow... CMOR
