Music Nation is a Music Video Competition for Independent Artists

Born Chantal Velvet Washington on September 2, 1986. TLM grew up in a strong religious background, filled with hardwork and struggle, but lots of love. Chantal's older brother introduced her to underground hip hop; artist such as Common, Slum Village, Goodie Mob, The Roots, Jill Scott and many more. TLM began to write lyrics and poems at the age of 12. By13 she began battling rappers on schoolgrounds and in the streets. Being the only female in the circle, TLM had to come with the best lyrics and spit as hard as a dude to prove her skills. At 14 she created the name TLM "The Lyrical Maze". TLM was the step team captain for Dutch Fork Middle and throughout her senior year at Dutch Fork High. She played varsity volleyball for 3 years, ran varsity track for 4 years, she was the leader of the gospel choir, a member of the poetry club and took drama for 2 years. TLM attended SC State University for 1 year and is currently attending Columbia College, double majoring in Mass Media & Dance. TLM is aspiring to become a profesional artist and dancer.
