Music Nation is a Music Video Competition for Independent Artists

 

So just to give you a tiny bit of background...I (Woody) work at a crisis center for troubled teens...when I'm not playing music/when I'm in town.
Its a very rewarding job and the possibility that I could help someone out really blows my mind! I must say though that at times things get pretty exhausting...the stress level is pretty high.

Last Monday (Sept 10) was no exception. Except of course that I was sitting at work (trying to keep some knuckleheads from fighting) and wondering who had won the CONTEST.

So just about when noon rolls around, my phone starts vibrating in my pocket. I look down, and its MUSIC NATION calling...I step into the break room...

HELLO??!?, I ask

HI WOODY, THIS IS (EVERYONE) AT MUSIC NATION CALLING...WELL WE'RE CALLING TO LET YOU KNOW THAT ALDJAKFJASLDKFJADF THE CONTEST

hmmm

ME: uh...could you repeat that???

so to make a long story short, I couldn't understand a word they were saying b/c I was on speakerphone...but finally i got it...i heard the words "YOU WON" yelled into the phone

I couldn't believe it.

OF COURSE we're a confident band, and of course we have confidence in our sound, our songs, etc. (what band doesn't love what they do?) but after being up against so many good bands...I had no clue who the winner was going to be!



So after getting off the phone with Music Nation I called Tyler (our guitarist) told him the amazing news, and told him to call Thomas (drums) and Chris (bass).

Evidently when he did, he made up an elaborate story about how we didn't win...he even comforted them in the fact (they were obviously distressed at the outcome) and then when they were just about to get off the phone he told them the truth...HAHA thats the kind of brotherhood we have...

Anyway, we all couldn't be happier...we're ready to get into the studio, and enjoy all of our amazing prizes (which are in the mail)
