last night was our last full night in LA and we had a proper night of debauchery. if you ever make it out here, make sure to stop by "la cinta" its a fun time...
To spare you all the details, we ended up back at the hotel without a cab, walking the entire way...
chris fell asleep on the bathroom floor...i got sick in the hallway...proper.
so now we're trying to finish our sparkling apple juice and pack our stuff and get out of the hotel before they charge us for an extra night...but i'm not sure if the hot sun is such a good idea right now. a red eye to atlanta is gonna be rough!
who's got a bottle of pepto?

So after days of stressing about where to be and when to be there, it was finally nice to wake up when we wanted to...enjoy a little breakfast and slowly get a move on, yesterday.
We ate lunch around 2 at a cool Thai place called "Toi" with David Wallace before he headed out of town...we exchanged some pretty hilarious stories...like the one about Chris's friend who has a dagger tattoo with the word "beer" inscripted on the daggers handle (where we come from you never know what you're going to see...but bet on a super mullet)
Brian from Lola Ray, who was also eating with us (amazing band) suggested that we hit up Universal Studios and do all the horror themed stuff. So immediately we were super excited and giddy at the prospect of being chased by actual high budget actors around the lots at Universal and being scared to death! Then we found out it only runs on the weekends :(
SO we went down melrose but traffic was sick, so we came back to the Hotel Miyako in Little Tokyo to get ready for tonight and let the traffic die down.
Next on the plan was club NME and random Karaoke bars.
I'm not sure what the quality of the video is, but we have some phone video of Chris singing some Journey...and seriously it was the funniest thing I've ever seen...as soon as Tyler wakes up I'll get his phone and try and post that...the world must see it!
I have to say though, when we go into these places here in Little Tokyo, these people take Karaoke so seriously...its quite intimidating.
On our way back home around 2am this morning the security guard at our hotel suggested that we go up to the second floor to the Hotel Bar where they Karaoke pretty late.
When we get there this guy is belting out Bon Jovi and the people there are super friendly...it was a nice stop for one last drink and then bed.
Well I'm off to get a coffee and maybe some toast.

i feel like i haven't seen "Black Rain" in ten years at least...but as soon as we stepped foot into Little Tokyo yesterday to check into our hotel...we were instantly transported from downtown LA to 1980s Japan - and its unbelievable!
we performed 2 songs on The Daily Habit (Fuel Tv) yesterday morning and enjoyed every second of it. The host of the show Pat Parnell was hilarious and super cool, and they had a pretty cool green room (with a gorgeous make up artist...very nice)
We met up with David Wallace one of the amazing people with Original Signal and hung out for a few before he zipped over to meet up with SLASH (way to name drop David...) He gave us a jar of gypsy tears to protect us on our travels...great success.
Then we drove down the 101 to the Ventura area to drop off our loner gear, the smoke from the wild fires in the area was unreal...the wind was blowing around 70mph.
Once we made it back to Little Tokyo we decided to have a night out on the town...the original plan was to check out a Karaoke bar that was next to our hotel, but that plan quickly turned into crashing a wedding that was going on in one of those "instant marriage" office building things and then walking about 10 blocks to a local watering hole where we had a few drinks and discussed the ins and outs of homeland security with a borderline escaped pscyh patient (though a very nice guy) and watched as they filmed CSI -New York across the street. (that entire paragraph is a runon sentence)
Anyway, after all that excitement we made it back to the hotel unscathed (gypsy tears) and fell asleep to the glorious sounds of whatever was on HBO.
i'm tired and going back to sleep.
love,
woody
