Influenced by the energy of 80's new wave, the darkness and drama of iconic bands such as the Damned, Bauhaus, and Birthday Party, This Isn't It combines richly- textured, intertwining guitar leads, careworn vocals, dramatic percussion, lilting piano, and tortured, synthesized symphonics to create love songs that eschew sentimentality for the starker terrain of waning affection. Comprised largely of veterans of Santa Cruz's early nineties music scene, the band draws on its members' own musical pasts - in particular, the modulated abandon of Bakamono and the free, organic tones of Thuja - to make music equal parts indie pop, dirge rock, and 80 new music scene.

Question: Here is my answer: As far as I stick my neck out around here, yes, but I'd say I'm always in a pretty good mood. Yes my public persona is contrived. Not to mention the inflated high regard of my own worth which I hold so dear. I do realize that the way I express my attitudes often may adversely affect the ratings of my very songs, not to mention how people might perceive of me as a person and as an individual . Yet I also believe, exactly like me, that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and even if I do choose to display my perspectives in a provocative manner, with an aggressive, even annoying, abrasive or confrontational style, that I am willing to let the chips fall where they may ~and live by the sword / die by the sword! And If I decide to butter someone up with flowery songs of praise ~ so be it ~ for I do tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve, so to speak. I really don't mean to affect people with any negative energy ~ but I do intend to cause a reaction ~ because in the long run, overall, I sincerely believe it is the way to create a positive shift in the balance of everything that is important in life. They're only numbers ~ I will be heard!
