The Next GAC Star - Bye Week

Hi! Well I was born no. 7 out of 9 kids. 7 boys and 2 girls. My sisters are younger than me. Well it all started with my oldest brother Troy. He bought a cheap guitar from an old catalog back in the 60's called National Bellas Hess. He tried playing but gave it up pretty quick. My second oldest brother, Mark picked it up and it didnt take long. He had the talent. He got good quick. He also started playing bass guitar and became a member of a band here in Pampa called Coy Worley and The Travelers. Well Mark showed me a little bit of stuff on the guitar when I was only 4. They say I picked the guitar with my thumb back then flat on the floor. Mark's music career ended before he had time to get it going good when he died of cancer at the age of 22 in march 1966. Well I was 8 years old then and Mark left all his stuff to me. He had a Gibson bass, and a Gretsch guitar. I began to listen to his tapes on reel to reel and began to learn chords.I was in the band in school so I began to read music. I wrote a few songs back then but not many. I joined a band in 1985 called Steel Water Bridge. I played lead guitar and sang backup. I got married after that and settled down a little bit. I have 3 great kids of my own now but im also divorced after 2 marriages. I am now writing more than ever. I would love to hear from you! Email me at: timgar123@yahoo.com

Not every Rock & Roller can combine various elements of reggae & country western hip licks on guitar with a combination of exotic World vocals , a dissonant choir , an overly bodacious Rock drummer , two bass guitarists , & even toss in a symphony orchestra in this extremely loose , kind of Jazzy / Grateful Dead style of an extended jam session ~ recorded in mono at my Ashram / Asylum whilest partying like a maniacal rock star with his final death wish ~ on a week long binge that has no ending in sight , & very well might continue well into the next couple of years ~ and actually look this good doing it .....
    . . . . It's tough being me ~ but someone's gotta do it !!!!!! http://musicnation.com/music/thealtruistic/its-always-better-to-have-a-5th-in-november-than-the-other-way-a

Really appreciate all the feedback I have been receiving from my artist friends for my rough-cut material. Since May 1st, I have composed, digitized, and posted 40 songs. Only a choice few will be among those selected for my first CD. Any songs that become finished commercial studio releases will be available to anyone here who wants any of those titles. I will be happy personally send any selected .mp3s your way, if you request. You guys are the greatest, and you know that I love you!!

"A Highway Star," not Deep Purple. Sparsely orchestrated. Melody good. Will feature a counterpoint guitar break between 2nd chorus and bridge, reminiscent of John Phillips', "Me and My Uncle," by the Grateful Dead and "Bitter Creek" from the Eagles' Desperado. A ROAD SONG!!!!
