Born and raised in Omaha, NE, Tim Kasher is one of the original collaborators in the music collective that became Saddle Creek Records – home to Bright Eyes, The Faint, and Kasher's own bands, Cursive and The Good Life. Always a storyteller, Kasher didn’t find the ideal outlet for his tales until picking up his older sister's guitar. He eventually went on to form his two bands, both of which became celebrated international touring outfits. Cursive has released five full-length albums over the course of the last decade, including "Domestica" (2001), "The Ugly Organ" (2003), and "Happy Hollow" (2006). All were acclaimed, with critics raving from Rolling Stone - "(Kasher) asks questions, makes demands, promises impossibilities, exploring the ugly places in the heart. But that's why he's an original, testifying about love with the conviction of a young indie Springsteen” – to Blender – “(Kasher) rouses his powerful, nervy voice to recite lyrics that are effectively postmodern, three-minute bursts of literature." Such praise quickly raised Kasher and his bands’ profiles, and soon he found himself touring with the likes of The Cure, Interpol and Mastodon. Meanwhile, The Good Life, Kasher's quieter, more personal music project, has released three full lengths since its inception in 2000. The most recently released, "Album of the Year" (2005), made it on to many critic’s year-end "Best Of" lists. The band’s fourth album, "Help Wanted Nights," is set to release on Saddle Creek Records on September 11, 2007. The album combines two of Kasher’s passions – songwriting and screenwriting – as it was originally penned with the intent to serve as the soundtrack to a screenplay Kasher wrote by the same name. The screenplay is scheduled to film in Spring 2008.
