The Biography of Tony Picasso Hip-Hop + GhettoTech + AfroBeat + HardCore + Soul + Lyrical + Sounds of the Cosmos Infinite = Tony Picasso "The Mind of A MuZick Fiend" (Visit ThumbPlay.com for Tony Picasso RingTones) From a red-dirt tobacco road in Sedalia, North Carolina, to grinding south Sacramento, (Mack Rd.) California, to breaking bread with "true" hustlers in Atlanta, Georgia, Tony Picasso has paid and paved his own way as a "true" hip-hop hustler. Music didn't always pay the bills, so in Spring 2002, Tony grinded the streets as a young entrepreneur employing his younger brother as they sold urban fashions and mixtapes from Greensboro and Burlington, North Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia. In Fall 2002, Picasso opened One Source Fashions in Norcross, Georgia, just 8 miles northeast of Atlanta. Building up his clientele from direct grass roots marketing, his street name was Kreme, identifying him as a 100% North Carolina Redd-Bone of Black, White, and Native American Indian. As DJ Crispy Kreme, he performed every Friday and/or Saturday night at Jerk On The Grill Jamaican Restaurant on Indian Trail Rd. Next door to Chuck's "The Phix" barbershop where he met Russell and Joseph Simmons' father ("I was honored", says Tony). While selling his mixtapes titled "2 Hot 4 Ya", "Scattered Smothered and Covered", "Scattered Smothered and Crunkd", and "The Underground Gangsta" at North Georgia Compact Disc record store, New Jack Records in Decatur, Glenwood Flea Market, Pete's Barbershop, Royal Fades Barbershop, Memorial Dr. Liquors, Supreme Fish, and everywhere else he touchdown, many local and underground artist met him and heard of him by word of mouth. "They just wanted to be heard", says Tony. "They became my inspiration and drive to pick up the pen once again and let my mind breath on the mic". And breath it has. After selling over 10,000 mixtapes and 5,000+ physical copies of his debut independent album "Who Is Tony Picasso", he continues to brand his name and sound with the same successful direct grass roots marketing on the digital platforms of the Internet. Tony's performances include Club 20Grand East in Decatur, Georgia, Club Floyd's/Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, Florida, and the SoulStice Lounge/Busch Gardens Comfort Inn in Tampa, Florida. He also received a live interview and radio airplay of three of his songs on Tampa's WMNF 88.5FM's R&B Soul Party Show on 9/28/07 (visit wmnf.org >on demand >archives) for official play list.
