Piece Of The Mountain (full production)

Date Added: September 05, 2008

Description:

This beautiful love song was written back in the early '80's by two of my dearest friends, Bill Eddy and Mike Ladley. Bill has been gone for 10 years and I miss him terribly. I hope he's listening in heaven and saying... "yea.. that's the way I wanted this to sound". Enjoy.

Nice...strings and piano...you follow direction well...LOL! Gorgeous, absolutely beautiful! What's that solo percussion, melodic wood box? Might make the part simpler...(Fix that bass note at the end or fade before it. You must polish this one to absolute perfection! This is one of your better songs Phil!

At the intro, I felt like I was sitting in an open field in West Virginia as John Denver took the stage. The sun was just starting to budge into the evening sky. There was a feeling of peace in that multi colored atmosphere surrounding each and all of us. Everyone was smiling at each other, swaying back and forth to the sweet, mellow John Denver tunes. As the sun set, the lights came up, silhouetting the mountain backdrop behind the stage, and as Johnny brought one of his songs to its conclusion, he shouted out, "THANK GOD, I'M A COUNTRY BOY!!" As the cheers subsided into the night sky, the band kicked off, "Rocky Mountain High." (Now I admit I'm a crazy son-of-a-bitch, but if your song can invoke a picture like that in anyone, it's damn good!) PW, the Southwestern Perry Como of the 21st Century!! Excellent job bud!!!
