Music Nation is a Music Video Competition for Independent Artists

Girl-bands are all shit... Don't argue, it's what everybody thinks. It's the attitude MT-TV walk into every time they play a venue for the first time. Then once everyone has picked their astonished jaws up off the floor, and after the cleaners have mopped up the blood spilt from all that broken prejudice - THEN when the band get invited back to play they find that a few peoples opinions have been changed on that particular front... Girl bands are not really shit, but a vast amount of modern music IS shit... it's the perfect auditory expression of popular culture. Where is the passion, the glory, the depth, the visceral fire, the blood, sweat and tears? Mindless trash has it's place - it's comfy and nice not to think sometimes, to veg out a bit.........but everywhere? ALL the time? Reality shows, dumb humour, puerile news, knee-jerk politics... MT-TV are with Rage Against the Machine and Bill Hicks on this one... And as for music television? - no videos but plenty of ringtones....pushing rubbish and catchy soundbites telling us what to think of it. The men are bland, the women are blond, then if someone notices what's going on, they wheel out the Rolling Stones or The Sex Pistols to get us all fired up again so we forget. And THAT is where the band name comes from...empty television...MT-TV.
